"Puzzling" Is Better With A Friend, Or Even Several!

1000x800-2.jpg.png

Most of my threads on interpretation are rather serious and discuss the complex issues involved. This one is deliberately a little more fun-loving, and that's because there is indeed a "fun" aspect to interpretation, particularly if you have partners, because along with the company you receive, there is an even greater chance of success and thus enjoyment in it.

In the initial stages, dream and vision interpretation is much like putting together a puzzle. You spread the pieces of it out on a table and start trying to figure out how they come together to create a picture. Granted, I say "fun" in parenthesis because sometimes the subject matter can be foreboding, but the process of interpreting itself can be quite enjoyable and satisfying. If you have someone gifted to help you, the work doesn't seem so hard, and if you can both arrive in agreement on the same interpretation, it provides a double confirmation in the Spirit that you have completed the job successfully, and you did it together.

When most people start putting together a puzzle they start with a key and slowly build from there, such as looking for the corner pieces, because you know instantly where they should go, and it helps "frame" the picture more accurately. Then they often do the border, and this helps frame everything else a little more clearly. Then they start grouping pieces into colors and putting the patches of puzzle together by that.

So too does interpretation proceed by the same process. Sometimes someone thinks that a piece certainly goes here, only to find out later that it actually doesn't. But enough time working together and everyone finally fills out the entire picture together.

Why are these things important to understand? Joel 2:28 promises that the Spirit is going to be poured out upon the entire body of Christ in the end-times, from youngest to oldest, so we all need to begin learning how to function in it. And as far as the next generation is concerned, what better way to introduce young Christians to operating in the prophetic then by getting them involved in a little "puzzle" solving, and asking if they'd like to help interpret a dream?

Puzzle-solving has come a long ways in the last 30 years, and now children are putting together more complex 3-D puzzles, like LEGO dinosaurs (pictured above) or characters from their favorite movies, so why not translate this over into the spiritual? The imagery of 3-D puzzling actually came up in a dream that was sent to me by a friend a few months ago, where he and his "sister" were depicted as charged with "putting together a Lego" by their mother. It's too lengthy to go into in full, but the mother represented the Holy Spirit IMO, and the brother and sister putting it together represented the Lord wanting both of them to work together on a dream. It played on the theme of Star Wars.

The Star Wars Rancor Dream

There were a bunch of boxes of Star Wars legos in the room. My other sister entered the room and said mom wanted us to build a particular lego.... There were probably six boxes around the room. Each was probably 8-10 inches wide and a foot tall. Mom said the type of Lego she wanted us to make was some sort of alien like the Rancor, but it's not the name she said. What was there were spaceships and Jedi. I think I also saw Kylo Ren, the bad guy on one...

Why would a creature like a Rancor be depicted as one of the "puzzles" his family was supposed to "put together"? We should never count out what may look like "childish" analogies and imagery in dreams, because what it can represent is sometimes much more serious. In this case, I told him I thought it represented a demon that the Holy Spirit wanted to warn them about, and oftentimes the Lord will expose the activity of demons to those who can interpret dreams so that they know the strategies of the enemy. Things like the Jedi or Kylo Ren can likewise represent "good guys vs. bad guys" in the spiritual war, and I've seen Him use child-like analogies to prophecy about even things like the Ukraine War or delivering people from oppression, so I never discount such imagery.

Some might say I'm making too much of the whole "puzzle" analogy here, but in Numbers 12 it says this:

6 Then the Lord said, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make Myself known to him in a vision. I speak to him in a dream. 7 Not so with My servant Moses. He is faithful in all My house. 8 I speak with him face to face, and plainly, not in riddles. 8 And he sees the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?” (Numbers 12:6-8)

In the Greek, this passage literally says that dreams are like "enigmas" (αἴνιγμαs), a word sometimes rendered into English as "riddles," and riddles are essentially the same thing; mental challenges that can be "puzzling" until we finally figure them out. While spiritual discernment is ultimately the biggest key, there is also a definite mental aspect to interpreting dreams. This is because for an interpretation to be fully confirmed, the various elements all need to make logical sense, and fit together in a way that fills out the picture and finally makes logical sense of the entire thing, much like when all the pieces in a puzzle finally come together and all "fit."

In conclusion, despite the difficulties, it can be fun interpreting dreams and visions when you are successful at it, all the more so when you have a partner or several partners to help. Another dream sent by a friend years ago confirmed this all, where dreams and interpretation were literally described as "F.U.N." in the dream. Together you can figure things out more easily and make more progress quickly, operating in the gifts of the Spirit together, and receiving what the Spirit is saying to someone's life.

Truth:"

“This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’"

"2 Peter 1:20. It states, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.". This verse emphasizes that no prophecy should be interpreted based solely on personal understanding, but rather as a divinely inspired word"

“This is God’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as God: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’"

That's correct. He tells us. That's where correct interpretation comes from is Him, not us, and without the Holy Spirit revealing mysteries they simply won't be revealed, because He holds all things in His hand.
"2 Peter 1:20. It states, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.". This verse emphasizes that no prophecy should be interpreted based solely on personal understanding, but rather as a divinely inspired word"

I'm about to do a full study on this passage, actually and I will provide a link to it here. It's a marvelous truth. The proper interpretation of prophecy belongs only to the Spirit-filled church (collective). On a smaller scale and regarding lesser and more personal issues, this same principle still applies. Two or three people working together in the Spirit of God fulfill this principle as well, only on a lesser scale.
