The Bible inerrant?

Then how can we reconcile the Protestant "chop chop" of these previously canonized books of the Bible in the "new" King James Version!

Apocrypha: King James Bible

Additions to Daniel
Judith
Esdras
Additions to Esther
Susanna
2 Maccabees
4 Ezra
Prayer of Manassheh
Sirach
Wisdom of Solomon
Baruch (incl Epistle of Jeremiah)
1 Maccabees
Tobit

INERRANT! INFALLIBLE! THEN WHY DID GOD ALLOW THESE FALLIBLE BOOKS TO COMINGLE WITH DIVINE BOOKS FOR 1600 YEARS!

Wa thebook of Enoch ever in the Cannon??

I am not sure on that one!

However, it is made reference to in the book of Jude and some of Jesus' sayings correspond to what is presented in the Book of Enoch!

Hi: Good question. The immediate answer is no. I must add, howver, that the book of Enoch was in heavy usage by the early Church, and was considered for canonization. The imagery from Revelation is straight out of Enoch, as is a citation from Jude.

It makes a fascinating read, and gives a glimpse into the beliefs of the Jews regarding heaven and the afterlife during the so-called intertestemental period.

:)
While inventing new soteriology and ecclesionlogy, one must excise all scripture that interferes with said development. Marcion did it; Luther did it. Luther wanted Hebrews, James, and Revelation out, also.

"Epistle of Straw" Luther's description of James

It is almost like the doctrinal issues were formulated BEFORE the establishment of the canon!

Like they "picked" the books that would support their paradigms rather than picking the books free from doctrinal assertations and THEN formulating creeds from the scriptures!

Soma-Sight, your a trouble maker.

For all my brothers from the East. Just run to your bathrooms and set a mirror up by that buddy icon and you will understand what I mean. I'm speaking orthodox flip mode.

GOD didn't keep these books a secret dude....if you didn't know this already, the bible was chosen by continues voting through the course of time. These book were not included not becuase GOD didn't want them to be, but becuase humans chose what the bible would consist of.

I was going to say Vic...

The main reason, that I am aware of, that Protestants rejected the deuterocanonicals is precisely because they were rejected by the Jews.

The Jews had anterior motives. The early Church used the Septuagint but the Jews did not like this because it supported Christ. So they rejected it. This next quote is from ST. Justin Martyr. In the Hebrew Bible it says, , 'Behold, the young woman shall conceive.' But in the Septuagint it says, “Behold, the virgin shall conceiveâ€Â. Now Protestant bibles, that are supposed to be only from Hebrew Bibles (because they follow the Jews in this regard not early Christians who used both) but in this case they use the Septuagint with this passage. Not very consistant if the Septuagint is not the word of God. Her is the quote.

CHAPTER LXXI -- THE JEWS REJECT THE INTERPRETATION OF THE LXX., FROM WHICH, MOREOVER, THEY HAVE TAKEN AWAY SOME PASSAGES.
"But I am far from putting reliance in your teachers, who refuse to admit that the interpretation made by the seventy elders who were with Ptolemy[king] of the Egyptians is a correct one; and they attempt to frame another. And I wish you to observe, that they have altogether taken away many Scriptures from the translations effected by those seventy elders who were with Ptolemy, and by which this very man who was crucified is proved to have been set forth expressly as God, and man, and as being crucified, and as dying; but since I am aware that this is denied by all of your nation, I do not address myself to these points, but I proceed to carry on my discussions by means of those passages which are still admitted by you. For you assent to those which I have brought before your attention, except that you contradict the statement, 'Behold, the virgin shall conceive,' and say it ought to be read, 'Behold, the young woman shall conceive.' And I promised to prove that the prophecy referred, not, as you were taught, to Hezekiah, but to this Christ of mine: and now I shall go to the proof."

The Jews also rejected the Deuterocanonicals that were in the Septuagint because it has prophesies of Jesus like this in it.

He professes to have knowledge of God and styles himself a child of the LORD. To us he is the censure of our thoughts; merely to see him is a hardship for us, Because his life is not like other men's, and different are his ways. He judges us debased; he holds aloof from our paths as from things impure. He calls blest the destiny of the just and boasts that God is his Father. Let us see whether his words be true; let us find out what will happen to him. For if the just one be the son of God, he will defend him and deliver him from the hand of his foes. With revilement and torture let us put him to the test that we may have proof of his gentleness and try his patience. Let us condemn him to a shameful death; for according to his own words, God will take care of him." These were their thoughts, but they erred; for their wickedness blinded them, And they knew not the hidden counsels of God; neither did they count on a recompense of holiness nor discern the innocent souls' reward. (Wisdom 2:13-22)

This is one of the longest prophesies of Jesus in the Bible. And Protestants don’t have it in their Bibles.

Anyways I dont quite understand the Othodox Flip mode as of yet!

Catholics from the west side make the sign of the cross touching the left shoulder and then the right shoulder. Those from the east side make the sign of the cross touching their right shoulder and then their left. Its kinda like gangster signs for old school Christians to know what set your claiming. (hehehe) So with a mirror I would be showing an eastern sign of the cross flip mode. Capeesh?

That is one of my favorite prophecies of Jesus. :) It points to all the mockery Jesus receives to ahve God save him, and how He will be accused of calling God his Father.

One of the rubs against ancient Apostolic Christianity- ie, Catholics, Orthodox, Copts, Armenians, and the like, is that we are an anachronism: something from another time that does not belong in this current time. Our worship, they say, is not relevant to the times. Our vestments are elaborate and showy and irrelevant. Our church buildings are elaborate and ostentatious, they say.

We are enamored with the traditions of men, for we insist on understanding what is in scripture in a concordant way with our holy forefathers and foremothers.

When I go to worship, I leave time far behind. Though the Church acretes certain hymns and practices over time, the worship itself is out of time. It is not a fad or a style- and because of this, it never goes out of style. The worship of the Church is the template by which everything else is fashioned. This is because the worship of the Church is fashioned after the one True Template that is heaven.

The Temple in heaven is not four bare walls and a sermon. There is an altar, there are elders censing the altar and the throne, there is chanting of the Trisagion (thrice holy hymn: Holy, holy, holy is the Lord our God). The Elders are not dressed in sports jackets, they are in robes and vestments.

Word to the wise for the iconoclasts: heaven and heavenly things are timeless, and they are not plain/austere. Worship is 'hilaron' full of joy, hilarious, elaborate, over the top.
