The earliest prophecies provide us with an understand of the purpose of Bible prophecy. Simply stated, Bible prophecy is where God deems that certain individuals will physically survive a cataclysmic disaster. A closer exam shows In each case in the past, God provided those individuals with two bits of information. These criteria are:
1. God forewarns those certain individuals of the impending disaster (the prophecy).
2. God divinely provides instructions on how to physically escape.
The classic example is Noah and the flood.
So, when Christ stated:
Matthew 24: 37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
…..He was suggesting to us that the future end times will have a similar ending as the parable of Noah. In other words,
1. God is forewarning the body of Christ of an impending disaster (the apocalypse, the anti-Christ and etc.).
2. And (what most Christians fail to see) God has divinely provides instructions on how to physically escape.
Revelation 12 best describes (in parable form) these survival instructions. Notice that three times (as if to drive the point home) John accurately describes the woman is divinely being protected and fed during the three and a half year Great Tribulation period:
1. Verse 6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
2. Verse 14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
3. Verses 15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
Which leads us to the question: who is the woman that delivers the man-child? The problem is that Bible prophecy is designed by God as a parable. It is presented as a word puzzle, not meant for everyone to understand. Thus, the reason why there are many different interpretations. Unfortunately, all the interpretations are not accurate. Only the ones the properly interpret Revelation 12 will have a chance of being alive at the advent of Christ.
In Yehoshua,
Guy Smith
Luke 21:36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
