The Purpose of Bible Prophecy

The earliest prophecies provide us with an understand of the purpose of Bible prophecy. Simply stated, Bible prophecy is where God deems that certain individuals will physically survive a cataclysmic disaster. A closer exam shows In each case in the past, God provided those individuals with two bits of information. These criteria are:

1. God forewarns those certain individuals of the impending disaster (the prophecy).
2. God divinely provides instructions on how to physically escape.
The classic example is Noah and the flood.

So, when Christ stated:

Matthew 24: 37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

…..He was suggesting to us that the future end times will have a similar ending as the parable of Noah. In other words,

1. God is forewarning the body of Christ of an impending disaster (the apocalypse, the anti-Christ and etc.).
2. And (what most Christians fail to see) God has divinely provides instructions on how to physically escape.

Revelation 12 best describes (in parable form) these survival instructions. Notice that three times (as if to drive the point home) John accurately describes the woman is divinely being protected and fed during the three and a half year Great Tribulation period:

1. Verse 6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
2. Verse 14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
3. Verses 15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

Which leads us to the question: who is the woman that delivers the man-child? The problem is that Bible prophecy is designed by God as a parable. It is presented as a word puzzle, not meant for everyone to understand. Thus, the reason why there are many different interpretations. Unfortunately, all the interpretations are not accurate. Only the ones the properly interpret Revelation 12 will have a chance of being alive at the advent of Christ.

In Yehoshua,
Guy Smith
Luke 21:36Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Bible prophecy is where God deems that certain individuals will physically survive a cataclysmic disaster.
Bible prophecy is all that and more. For instance, there is Messianic prophecy. ;)

The woman that gave birth is Israel. I do not know of any denominations that are teaching that Christ saves a remnant of Christians, for the reign of Christ on Earth. They are all teaching that everyone will be raptured out of here, or they are teaching that no one survives. They all sound like a bunch of defeatus, and pay no attention to scriptures that says other wise. Perhaps they think they can defeat God's prophecies by leading the people astray. There is scripture that suggest there are secret societies leading the Christian people astray, so they will rise to inherit the Earth. :ohwell :shrug

Secret Societies of the Meek? :confused

The woman is New Jerusalem the ''mother of us all'' it is the maternal side of God... She is an aftershadow of the moon Joseph saw in a dream, and the woman stands on the moon...

And she gives birth to the resurrected saints and all who follow Jesus the Lamb.

Remember we must be born of water and Spirit (as in water from heaven), born from above.

People might be surprised what bible prophecy can do.When I was 34 I started reading the bible. Not knowing much I first wanted to learn how to pray so I began searching scripture.I had always wanted to believe in God and Jesus but I was never sure so you could say I lacked faith.I really didnt know what to believe.I found myself reading more and more and at one point I was reading the book of Daniel.I was reading about wars and I became convinced that I had witnessed these things myself. At that point I no longer doubted if God was real and that one little part of scripture caused me to believe everything I had already read in the bible.Within an hour I recieved the Holy Spirit.
So that is one thing bible prophecy can do.The word of God can give faith where there was none.

OT

Off topic side bar:

The word of God can give faith where there was none.
:thumb Only God can give faith.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I am not sure I am following you. (The resurrected saints you mention, I cannot place within that chapter)

I agree that the woman is the church. I can see that the man child in Rev 12 = John 16, from verse 19, where Jesus tells the disciples they are the woman that give birth to a man child.

Rev 12 is at the start of the Tribulation, we see that in the fact that the woman is nourished with the Word by "them" (the man child group of first fruits) for three and a half years in the wilderness . That would then bring us to the middle of the Tribulation and the time of the persecution and killing of many saints.
