Committing a sin cannot commit you to hell if you turn to him and his grace and his mercy. That is the problem with the galations. They turned away from him. They were SEVERED from him because they started relying on themselves rather than him. It is clear that for a time they did rely on him or they could not have been SEVERED.

Where does it say that the galatians were severed?

[quote:146a3][quote:146a3]If Sin can still separate you from God and if sin can make you lose your salvation...then obviously Christ dying on the cross wasn't enough.

We must not sin, but if we do we have an advocate. If we do not go to the advocate however we are condemned by our sins, for the wages of sin is death, unless we pay the fine with the grace of the one who died for our sins. The fine must be paid. We do not pay it if we at some point deny Christ and reject him. Paul warns us of falling away many times. Being severed or cut off. This is only due to one's sins and not going before the advocate for forgiveness.

So Jesus paying the fine isn't enough?

[quote:146a3]Can someone please explain the purpose of Christ's death and resurrection and why God had to come to earth as FLESH...live a sinless life, was tortured, killed then raised from the dead and how it is suppose to be relevant for our salvation?

To my question, why are not all saved if this guarantees that we go to heaven? Was there some part of mankind's sins that an infinite God could not atone for? No. There was only the part of sins that man would not ask for the payment for. The payment is there for ALL men's sins. God wills that ALL mens sins be forgiven. But some resist his grace and therefore get justice rather than mercy. It makes no sense that a God who "desires that ALL men be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth", sends his son to die on the cross for ALL men, and then some do not get saved because of him. No he does all he can without violating our will. He gives all sufficient grace to be saved. Those who reject it and resist grace do so of their own accord and are responsible for their eternal damnation.[/quote:146a3][/quote:146a3][/quote:146a3]

Now can you answer my question? Thanks!

If Sin can still separate you from God and if sin can make you lose your salvation...then obviously Christ dying on the cross wasn't enough.

Can someone please explain the purpose of Christ's death and resurrection and why God had to come to earth as FLESH...live a sinless life, was tortured, killed then raised from the dead and how it is suppose to be relevant for our salvation?

Before I get to the end of Christ's life, I want to start with the reason why he was born. John 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

So in other words to understand one must first be born of truth (in Christ) or his words will be empty at every level of interpretation. Only the Lord can judge who is born of Him and the truth. As men and women we simply debate scripture and apply it to the outward works to see who is bearing fruit. It seems truth changes when man decides for himself what truth is.

To seek the real truth however it must be imparted through the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The truth of knowing Christ is the milk...but the meat comes from developing a relationship with Christ (through the Holy Spirit) and allowing him to transform you with his word - that being God's word, made flesh. Jesus IS the word of God. Only through knowing him can we become one in his truth. John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

How do we abide him though? In the Spirit - and the Holy Spirit only came once Christ was sacrificed. Why was he resurrected though? Perhaps this scripture has something to do with it? John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Was the resurrection of Christ at God's hand; the rebirth of Christ - for he too was a man; a Son of Man; now resurrected to the right hand side of God as his Son.

One may well ask - why did Christ do all this when it may have been just a simple answer of God's forgiveness to cleanse all? In order for God to forgive however - he must enter into righteousness. God was not of evil - the darkness cannot reside in the light. Where there is light there can be no darkness. Thus he could not forgive and partake in that which was evil - it had to be righteousness which God could take pity upon in forgiveness.

Which is why he could forgive Christ for man's sake because Christ was righteous; clothed in the wickness of men which he himself did not part-take in. Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father forgive them; for they know not what they do.

If in the hour of his crucifixion and emanent death; he fortold that man did not know what they were doing to him; is it so now that mankind knows sin or the unrighteousness of it?

It is easy to say that one should not sin - it is written in the scriptures where not to sin. Take your pick from any of the ten commandments God penned to Moses in stone; and the two great commandments Christ spoke of himself - to love God and our neighbours as ourselves. Yet does one willingly sin when abiding in Christ? Galatians 3:3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

It is foolish to believe that abiding in Christ has made us perfect in the flesh. It is for Christ himself to perfect the flesh when he comes again. Galatians 3:14-15 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through fatih. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covernant, yet if it be confirmed (by the Holy Spirit); no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

In other words we have no real bearing on what Christ achieved on the cross - except through our own belief that he is Lord. When you don't believe on the Son or the Father who sent him - you cannot partake in the promise of eternal life. When you do believe however; you become one (through the Holy Spirit) with Christ and all he promised to do for the living and the dead. We are both living and dead even now. We are dead to sin because we are living in Christ - in Spirit. In the flesh however; to this kingdom of men; we are still living in sin - our only sanctuary abiding in Christ.

Romans 7:24-25 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

We are caught in a cunnundrum - with Christ the only deliverance. Amen!

All of orthodoxy cannot answer your question without offending you Mary.

This is what they mean to say.

Jesus came because man broke Gods rules.

God is mad and needs to be appeased, because He is Holy and can't have sin around Him especially humans because their sinners.

God sends Jesus or actually God sends himself in the flesh of a human being and also prays to the father even though He is God made flesh.
(I knew you would understand)

So anyway God is in Christ appeasing his just requirements of the Law (Which is death) so that mankind doesn't have to which would result in his complete seperation from the father. (Or put more plainly) They would suffer eternal punishment forever, and ever in hell untill Hell is cast into the lake of fire (When forever, and ever ends)

Since mankind is a finite being what we have done is made an Infinite being mad at sin. So you got to understand that Gods Justice(And Holiness) must be justified (Even though love doesn't take into account a wrong done to it)

So Jesus suffers on the cross for you (Not instead of you) and God forsakes him (Even though the Phishito version says "For this moment was I kept")

Christ doesn't become to us an example (Even though the bible says so)
He is just a sacrifice to appease Gods wrath on mankind, thats why He is our advocate! Somebody has to plead with God not to burn us up.

Just hope this might help.

Oh and don't worry Jesus Loves all the little children, until they reach the age of accountability.

I hope you make it to heaven? Most won't but thats Okay Jesus is the savior of the whole world anyway (I just hope He doesn't forget)

God loves you!

The churches say he NEVER died, just kept on living as the 'immortal' soul.
