The Recorded Atrocities of John Calvin

It is interesting that some people think "neutral" means "leave out the evil a person did." It is really supposed to mean just state clearly WHAT the person did without demeaning or praising adjectives.
If the people that publish the encyclopedia became a book of judgment, they would not sell any encyclopedias.

Let’s not forget the catholic martyrs of the English so-called reformation under Henry 8 and the bloody queen Elizabeth

The encyclopedia does not give a description of the atrocities committed by John Calvin. It just gives an overview of his life.

Yes and shows how much influence, how much of todays Christianity is dependant on him.

If he were alive today, you would have grounds for your attacks on him.

I'm reminded of a story in the press here in the UK.
A primary school has renamed its self it is no longer the Francis Drake primary school, because he was a ' bad' man, he traded in slaves, you are saying Calvin was a ' bad ' man, we should have nothing to do with him.

It is not our job to attack the servants of God.

Christianity today is tainted by Calvin who was a lawyer, not a theologian by training.

He took Christianity very seriously, we would all find ourselves before his disciplinary courts, which is why, so often he is attacked.

Numbers 32 has the account of a man found ignoring the Commands about the sabbath, Calvin was as stricked.
We are compromised.

He persecuted ice skating and other simple pleasures. The people of Geneva hated his tyranny. They were probably glad he had no son so no dynasty. But those who love his teachings today usually don’t like that information.

I don't consider John Calvin to be a servant of God. I see John Calvin as a satanic demon.

If I ask I want to know.
One is the teaching that God randomly selects some for hell and some for heaven for no reason and what you do or decide makes no difference. This introduces many evils not the least of which is the reason to spread the Gospel is undercut. The pilgrims didn’t share the Gospel with the local people because they assumed they were predestined for hell anyway.

That is a dangerous state of mind, to identify a servant of God as a servant of the devil.
if you think the John Calvin was a servant of God, it is because you don't know what a servant of God is. A servant of God does not blasphemy his God with false doctrine. Calvinism makes God unjust and Jesus Christ a failure.
