I believe you will find that the resurrection is the physical place we go when we die, and heaven is the peace we have when we repent of our sin.

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

I believe the resurrection is something that happens to us.
Heaven is a location.
Repentance brings peace.
The Kingdom of Heaven and the Kingdom of God - is a place and all things in it are holy.

Interesting. I look at it the opposite way. Anyway, we agree that repentance brings peace (which I think is heaven).

I believe the verse is saying we must repent to get to heaven and we will have peace in heaven. I think heaven is the physical place not the resurrection. You may also experience peace while still here on earth when you repent of your sins.

I think Jesus is telling us that if we repent of our sin, we will have peace NOW. He's not saying that if we repent, we will have peace after we die.

As long as we resist temptation, we will have peace. One temptation we need to resist is being too lazy too love the Lord with all our hearts, minds, and souls.

Joh 3:13 KJV And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

Heaven is a place.

No, I don't think so. Heaven is what happens to us when we repent of our sin. "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Jesus is trying to get us to repent. What happens when we repent? Jesus wants us to repent and find out.

If repentance places us in Heaven then we wouldn't experience sorrow, pain, death, etc. Repentance ( godly ) leads to salvation which will allow us entry to the New Earth where Heaven ( God's dwelling place ) will be amid us.

Rev 21:3-4 KJV And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. (4) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Well, Deborah is correct. Heaven is a place, for lack of a better way of putting it, and the resurrection is something that happens to us. This cannot be any clearer in Scripture. Jesus was resurrected, which means to come back to life, by definition. You simply cannot go making up your own definitions of words or else your beliefs will be in error.

There will be no death in the resurrection, of course. I imagine there will be some pain because the Lord will have to discipline us once in a while. Probably little sorrow there.

In heaven - the peace that arises from repentance - death, sorrow, and are all possibilities. We can deal with those things.

When you repent, you have peace. This, I believe is heaven. Read what Jesus said again:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

As for the resurrection, Jesus is the resurrection:

[24] Martha said to him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
[25] Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
[26] and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" John 11:24-26 RSV

I think everyone agrees that there is tremendous peace when we repent of our sin. I call that "heaven." You call it "peace." Everyone agrees we go to a great place when we die. I call it the "resurrection." You call it "heaven." Let's move on.

If repentance equals "peace" and peace equals "heaven", would you mind explaining why the Father needs to repent?

Matthew 7
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Notice that it states that God the Father is in heaven. What did God do that He would have to repent?
.

We can't move on. How can there ever be any meaningful discussion if you use your own definitions of words? That makes discussion meaningless. Your definitions of heaven and resurrection are not the biblical definitions.

Not mention your OP is about this very error, so there really is nothing to move on to.

Repent means to "turn away from sin" or "change one's mind." When Jesus told us to repent, he meant we were to stop sinning. God had at least once instance where he change his mind.

Here is the definition of the resurrection:

[25] Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
[26] and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" RSV

To discover the definition of heaven, do as Jesus instructed:

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matt 4:17 RSV

When you repent of your sin, a marvelous peace comes over you.

Repent means to "turn away from sin" or "change one's mind." When Jesus told us to repent, he meant we were to stop sinning. God had at least once instance where he change his mind.

So if I repent once, that means I am forever in heaven...........................right?

No. Each time we sin we buy some trouble for ourselves. However, if we can stop sinning, the trouble stops coming our way.
