The Right to Choose; a given or a taken?

Hypothetically, if I were a woman who was joining with a mate but had no thoughts or intentions of having a baby and became pregnant what would I do--?
I'm assuming you're talking about a mate that you are not married to. This would be a sinful act in itself for Scripture speaks volumes against adultery, sexual promiscuity, sexual immorality, sexual impurity, and so forth.

The Right to Choose; a given or a taken?

Personally, I believe a woman should have a right to choose whether she wants to take the embryo in her womb to birth or not.

Hypothetically, if I were a woman who was joining with a mate but had no thoughts or intentions of having a baby and became pregnant what would I do--?

[1] Ask your Doctor to end the pregnancy

[2] Try to end the pregnancy by inserting something up into the womb to kill/stop the embryo

[3] have the baby knowing you did not want it & the spark of love just was not there

[4] take your own life

if you have not adopted a child yet then do it now or just remain the hypocrite you appear to be

I will say, the adoption thing here was quite random, but it would be a better option than abortion any day. I would think it would be better to be alive somewhere than to have your life taken before you're born. A lot of women who would like more children or who cannot have children are happy to adopt.

There was a co-worker of my husband's who got pregnant and it wasn't planned. She didn't know what she was going to do. She talked to my husband about getting an abortion. He offered to adopt her baby and came home and told me and said, "I'm sorry I didn't talk to you about this. It was so sudden and anything would be better than an abortion." I forgave him. The woman said she would think about it. I knew it would be super difficult financially to get those types of funds together that we didn't have, but if God wanted it work then it would work. This woman later found out she had a miscarriage and she was so broken over it. She felt so guilty about even wanting to get an abortion. I felt so terrible for her and wished that wouldn't have happened as it's totally devastating.

Adoption can be a lengthy, expensive process and isn't the right choice for every family. Would I love to adopt a child? Yes, but the funds for it simply aren't there for that at this time. I certainly wish they would make it a bit easier for families to adopt children. They complain about this "foster crisis," but make their rules so strict and money figures so high.

abortion is legalized murder

the baby is a separate life from the life of a mother

choosing to not create a baby is humane

creating a baby you don't want and then killing it is inhumane

here is a video showing the baby in the womb knows the abortionist is trying to kill it and the baby is trying to get away - tell me this isn't murder of a baby that wants to live

check out page 4 for reasons why babies are aborted - it will make you realize that people need to choose to not create babies rather than kill unwanted babies

I agree. That's probably true. But I get the impression that conservative Christians make abortion the number one sin of society, when there are other areas they could focus their attention. It becomes like an obsession, from my pov.
If they moved on to some other sin it would also seem like an obsession to you.
Are you not in favor of folks treating each other in a Godly manner?

the woman mother to be is the advocate for the baby in the womb. they have no right to terminate the Baby. if there was complications that could create medical emergencies which are rare .abortions should not be legal as in a clinic. far to many use abortion as birth control ----->i am pro life %199

-sigh- im coming to this as a former gay dude, saved by Christ...pursuing celibacy...very close to 100% un-heterosexual. so, my personal involvement in any of this is bordering upon 0.

on a social/political level, I think abortion should be kept safe, legal, and affordable...especially in the 1st trimester (that's what was actually covered in Roe v Wade, if I recall). not my business, I'm not in a position to pay to take care of the woman, child, etc., so...OK. done.

2nd trimester...-eek- those are less common, thank goodness, so I say -- as a question of -policy- , not -morality- -- just look to the cases, laws from the 70s (US), when these issues were dealt with, initially. If I recall....Doe v Bolton (?) dealt with 2nd trimester, and the ruling then was no "undue restrictions," so...yeah. safe, legal, accessible and affordable to those who need it.

now...personally? I think abortion is generally immoral. do I consider it murder? not sure, honestly. I think there's a mention of abortion in Job, as in...he (Job) wishes he'd been aborted or still born. how's that for misery? this is one area in which I think one sees failings in sola scriptura, because while murder is a major sin...

there are no clear verses that would indicate abortion=murder. so, for my -personal- , -still developing- Christian worldview...

look to tradition (more of an Anglican, even -- gasp! -- Catholic approach, I suppose...). One sees that early Christians were not only against abortions, they didn't want Christians helping women procure them, either. I think that pops up in The Didache, maybe? I think so, anyway.

so...ramble, ramble...at the end of the day, -each person- is responsible for his own, her own salvation. If, for whatever reason, a female friend or someone was considering abortion and asked me for my opinion, I'd try to be tactful, try to be kind, try to be loving and gentle...

but, I'd have to also advise them that as a Christian...I think abortion is immoral, and even when done for health reasons, I think it qualifies (at best...) as a 'necessary evil'. Speak the Truth in love. not always easy. that and something I picked up from a Catholic website...

admonish the sinner. probably...even more difficult, but a good application of Christian morality. :)
