The Secrets of the Lord's Prayer

After visiting many churches God has revealed the secret of the Lord's Prayer......

Matthew 6:9-13 New International Version (NIV)
9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.11 Give us today our daily bread.12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Notice that the secret of the Lord's Prayer is that there is..... NO COMPLAINING!

I've visited many churches, both in the ghetto and suburban areas, and noticed one essential trait of a successful spirit filled church. Those churches who's congregation pray one long continuous complaint, which is more of a Christian rant than the worship of God, are often poor and struggling. While those churches that followed the example of the Lord's Prayer, and keep all complaints out of their worship of God, are truly spirit filled and successful. Complaints are nothing more than self-worship!

Notice that in the Parable of the Talents the wicked servant who hid his master's money had only complaints when asked why he didn't do anything worthwhile with the money that was given to him. It is the same with God. If anyone offers complaints to God rather than worship, God will treat that person like the wicked and lazy servant in the Parable of the Talents and take all of his money (blessings) and give it to all the non-complainers!

Stop Complaining to God! Complaints are self-worship! God does not reward complainers!

Mankind is suppose to perfect his worship of God...not his complaints to God!

Not believing in God's son Jesus Christ as the promised messiah is the ultimate complaint of man towards God. Those who refuse to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour and redeemer will be put in the Paradise of the complainers...hell itself. If you don't want to join the other complainers in an eternity in hell then just believe in God's son Jesus Christ, God become man, and rest assured that you'll be in heaven for eternity where the complaint desk will go unattended and unused.

God Bless

note:

Many people have begun to turn religion in a' voodoo doll' where they show up to church just to stick pins in their 'complaint doll' to indulge their lust for self-worship. In fact many church pastors and lay persons will make themselves into the “High Priest Complainer” thinking that God will readily listen to the complaints of the pastor or lay person and act to rectify those complaints quickly.

Politics has become nothing but complaints and we see how God will not reward or help a complainer and therefore many social problems go unresolved and even get worse!

Marriages and relationships that are full of complaints are nothing more than people indulging in self-worship. And like the example of the wicked and lazy servant in the Parable of the Talents, God will take all of his blessings away from a marriage, or relationship, that is full of complaints.... AND GIVE IT TO ALL THE NON-COMPLAINERS!

Matthew 6:13
13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Many churches are empty because of the above verse. Homosexuality is a temptation and God will honor Matthew 6:13 and lead his faithful away from those churches who have become advocates for the temptation of homosexuality!

Amen

Matthew 25:14-30 English Standard Version (ESV)
The Parable of the Talents
14 “For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property.15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money. 19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more.’ 21 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ 22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, ‘Master, you delivered to me two talents; here I have made two talents more.’ 23 His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ 24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, ‘Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here you have what is yours.’ 26 But his master answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

If people decide to discuss this subject are you going to respond?

A Christian should never have the need to pray for themselves if they are truly in Gods will. Our prayers need to be for those who are not yet saved by grace as that is what is more important to God that none should perish.

Kinda slides right over "You have not, because you ask not" doesn't it?

Kinda slides right over "You have not, because you ask not" doesn't it?
We know Philippians 4:19 says God will supply all our need. What are our needs other than shelter and food. Anything beyond that is wants of desires in that of the material. Let's use what you have said here. I have not because I never sought God for my needs. I complained because I did not have shelter or food and never sought out God for His provision. Is it Gods fault or mans fault that they go without? God always makes a way where there seems no way to our own mind if we only trust in Him to help provide for us. Gods not going to hand things over on a silver platter, but He will open doors for us to walk through, but it's up to us to walk through them.

I am a bit of an odd duck. I look at what man describes in his tradition then I put it to the test prescribed in scripture (1 Thessalonians 5:21 / 1 John 4:1 / Acts 17:11 / 2 Timothy 3:16-17 / 2 Peter 1:20-21 / John 16:13).

Man call's the disciple's prayer "the Lord's prayer." The actual Lord's prayer is most likely John 17.

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray like John taught his disciples.

You will note in that disciple's prayer an old covenant setting. "Forgive as we forgive..." etc.

New Covenant theology knows no such condition / limitation.

Much of what assists modern day Judaizers / legalists is not recognizing the setting of the Gospels (Old Covenant) and the New Covenant did not take effect until Christ died on the cross.

Hebrews 9:15-17 (NASB95)
15 For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
16 For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it.
17 For a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives.

The Sermon on the Mount, for example, was Divine Commentary on the Law of Moses and getting back on track its impossibility for man to keep / fulfill, refuting the doctrines of men who tried to make the Law a means of salvation. The Law is supposed to point to Grace after the futility of any other way is proven by the Law.

Galatians 3:24-25 (NASB95)
24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.
25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.

Yes as believers we are challenged not to grumble and complain Philippians 2:14-15.But then again we are only human. It is not wrong to complain to God but it is wrong to complain about God.
The Lord's Prayer is not a magic formula.God is more interested in our heart when we pray than the words we use.The Lord's Prayer is an example He taught to the disciples Matthew 6:9-11.There is nothing wrong with memorizing The Lord's Prayer but He is more interested with us communicating with Him than the words we use.

The Lord's Prayer is really a model prayer for believers, which begins and ends with worship, adoration and praise to God the Father. While our prayers should be patterned in conformity with this perfect pattern, God has no objection to prayers which include complaints. Indeed, a very significant portion of the Psalms are complaints to God, and Christians can and should use the Psalms also, since they are God's words. When believers are overwhelmed, the Psalms provide the pattern for prayer.
