Did your late husband stay connected with his company?
Going through old threads I must have missed this and so apologize for not answering sooner. My husband did keep in touch with some of his buddies over the years especially at Christmas. I met two or three of them over the years and remember one in particular who was a Crab fisherman in Alaska who took us on a halibut fishing trip in Homer. AK. But, like my husband, most of them have passed away. (He was older than I am) He never had any interest in attending organized reunions, however. But my older brother who had been a B-24 pilot in W. W. II sure enjoyed his reunions and so did my sister who had been a WAC in W.W.II..both much older than I and also gone. Your dad must have been very special. I think all of those paratroopers were! Obviously I may be a bit biased! :) I won't get going on my dad and his military service but needless to say, it was extensive, long before I was born. :)
