The Singularity of God

Godhead (means Magistrative Leadership of the Omnipotent Being)
  • Act 17:29 For as much then as we (Christians) are the offspring (descending Family) of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device (a constructed idol-imagination).
  • Rom 1:20 For the invisible things (itemized details) of him (God) from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead (Isa 45:5); so that they (non-believers) are without excuse:
  • Col 2:2 That their hearts (Christians) hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgment (acceptance) of the mystery (secret) of God (Ruling Creator), and of the Father (Patriarch head of human family), and of Christ (Anointed One);
God, Father, Christ, Son of God, Son of Man, Son of David, identify active titles operating in the performing master plan of God.
  • Col 2:8-10 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition (forming denominationalism) of men , after the rudiments (a basic principle) of the world (system), and not after Christ (means “anointed with oil.” Hebrew kings, prophets, and priests were anointed with oil). (Col 2:9 For in him (Jesus) dwells all the-fulness (completeness John 4:24) of the Godhead (Joel 2:27) bodily. Col 2:10 And you (Christians) are complete in him (Jesus), which is the head (supreme ruler) of all principality (territory ruled by a prince) and power (ability to successfully rule others):
  • Heb 1:1-5 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Heb 1:2 Has in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he has appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Heb 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, you are my Son, this day have I begotten you? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? Col 1:13-18
Word of God becomes Flesh, Blood, and Bone
  • Joh 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they (saints) that worship him (God) must worship him in spirit and in truth.
  • (Joh 1:1-3) In the beginning (Gen 1:1) was the Word, and the Word was with (expressed thoughts speech) God, and the Word was God.(Joh 1:2) The same was in the beginning with God. (Joh 1:3) All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
  • Joh 1:14 And the Word (expressed thoughts speech) was made flesh, and dwelt among us (Jews), (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten (created Son of God) of the Father (Patriarch of Human Saints), full of grace and truth. Matt 1:18
  • (2Co 5:19) To wit (mental sharpness), that God was in Christ, reconciling the world (saints) unto himself, not imputing their (saints) trespasses unto them (saints); and has committed unto us (Christians) the word of reconciliation (restoration of friendly relations).
  • 1Ti 3:16 And without controversy (opposing views) great is the mystery (secret) of godliness (virtue): God was manifest (shown) in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received (Matt 27:51-53) up into glory.
  • Eph 4:4-5 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you (Christians) are called in one hope of your calling; Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all (saints), who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Eph 4:7 But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Incarnation
  • Heb 1:2-3 Has in these last days (God) spoken unto us (Christians) by his Son, whom he (God) has appointed heir (receiver) of all things, by whom also he (God) made (spoken Word) the worlds; Heb 1:3 Who (Jesus) being the brightness of his (God) glory, and the express (exact) image (appearance) of his (God) person (physical being), and upholding all things by the word of his (Jesus) power, when he had by himself purged (removed) our (Christians) sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty (Sovereignty) on high (Kingdom of God);
  • 2Co 4:3-4 But if our (Christians) gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost (children of Lucifer): 2Co 4:4 In whom the god (Lucifer) of this world (systems) has blinded the minds of them (children of Lucifer) which believe not, lest the light (Jesus) of the glorious gospel of Christ, who (Jesus) is the image of God, should shine unto them.
  • Col 1:15-17 Who (Jesus) is the image (appearance) of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Col 1:16 For by him (Son of God) were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Col 1:17 And he (Son of God) is before all things, and by him all things consist.
  • Col 1:18-20 And he (Jesus) is the head of the body, the church: who (Jesus) is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he (Jesus) might have the preeminence. Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father (Originator of humanity) that in him (Jesus physically) should all fulness dwell; Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his (Jesus) cross, by him to reconcile (restore friendly relations-harmonize) all things unto himself; by him (Jesus), I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven (Kingdom of Heaven).

Joh 14:9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how says u then, Show us the Father? Joh 14:10 Believe you not that I (Jesus) am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwells in me, he does the works.
  • 2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing (crediting) their trespasses unto them (saints); and has committed unto us (saints) the word of reconciliation (restoration of friendly relations).
  • Joh 19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

As a non-trinitarian, I get that question often.

The word firstborn implies a beginning as well as being created.
How do you understand what Jesus said in these verses if you are non - Trinitarian.

Scriptures that reference Jesus being referred to as God:
John 1:1-14; John 10:30; Romans 9:5; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 1:8, 9; 1 John 5:7, 8, 20; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 3:17; 13:14; Isaiah 9:6; 44:6; Luke 1:35; Matthew 1:23; 28:19; John 14:16, 17; Genesis 1:1, 2 (cross reference John 1:1-14); 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 1:15-17; John 14:9-11; Philippians 2:5-8; Rev 1:8

Jesus is a beginning of God taking a physical body of flesh, blood, and bone. Also Jesus in resurrection has flesh and bone continuing his possession and leadership of those he has selected to continue with him in New Creation.

Colossians 1:15-20
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

What does Paul mean by "firstborn"? Does he mean to convey the idea of Jesus as the first created being, or the preeminence of Jesus over Creation? In Jewish culture, the firstborn son held a place of preeminence, of favor and of blessing, that his siblings did not. This is illustrated in the story of Esau and Jacob and the stealing of Isaac's blessing of Esau, the firstborn, by the second-born, Jacob. Among the Jews, the title "firstborn" communicated this privileged place as readily as it did birth-order.

16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

Is Paul emphasizing Jesus's createdness here? No, it is Jesus's preeminence as Creator of all that he is focused on.

17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Here, too, Paul is oriented on Jesus being before (or, better, above - Gk. pro) all things as the Sustainer of material reality, not on Jesus being a created being.

18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

Here, also, Paul is fixed on Jesus's preeminence over the Church, the first to die and be resurrected into a glorified body, holding first place in everything.

19 For it was the Father's good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

"All fullness of deity" could not dwell in Jesus if he was a created being. God's deity includes always having existed as a necessity of His being. This uncaused, non-contingent existence is, in part, what distinguishes God as such and so, if Jesus did not possess this always-existing aseity, he could not properly be called "God" (which he is repeatedly in the Bible).
Being "firstborn," then does not communicate Christ's created-ness, but his divine preeminence.

John 1:1-5 John 1:14 Matt 1:18 Rev 19:11-13
You said "Jesus is a beginning of God taking a physical body of flesh, blood, and bone. Also Jesus in resurrection has flesh and bone continuing his possession and leadership of those he has selected to continue with him in New Creation."

Where in those scriptures you gave me does it say that God took on a body of flesh, blood and bone. This is why it is so important to understand and believe in the Trinity/Deity of Christ.
