The Speed Of Time

Our Creator, Jehovah God, is called the "Ancient of Days" at Daniel 7:9 and the One who is "from everlasting to everlasting,"(Ps 90:2, King James Bible) who thus has established time for our benefit.(Gen 1:16; Ps 136:8, 9; Jer 31:35) That he is an accurate Timekeeper is evident not only from the superb precision manifest in the stellar bodies but also from the divine record of his acts.

In fulfillment of his promises or prophecies, he caused events to occur at the exact time foretold, whether the intervening time was of only a day, such as the pestilence upon Egypt's livestock (Ex 9:5, 6), a year, such as the birth of Isaac (Ge 17:21; 18:14; 21:1, 2), and the Shunemite woman ( 2Ki 4:16, 17), decades, such as the Israelites wandering in the wilderness for forty years (Num 14:34), and the seventy years of desolation for the land of Israel (2Chron 36:20-23; Dan 9:2), centuries, such as Abraham's seed dwelling in the land of Egypt for 430 years and then going out (Gen 12:4, 7; 15:13-16; Ex 12:40, 41; Ga 3:17), or millenniums, such as the ' trampling down of Jerusalem until the appointed times of the nations are fulfilled.' (Luke 21:24).

Concerning time, Jesus said that only his Father knew the exact time when the "great tribulation" would begin.(Matt 24:36) He further said that prior to this cataclysmic event, that an unrepeatable work would be done, saying that "this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."(Matt 24:14)

In relation to this work, whereby worthy individuals are being drawn out from the nations, the book of Isaiah says that from a small beginning will this "work" start, but will gain momentum until all that are worthy are gathered in, for Isaiah 60:22 says that "the little one himself will become a thousand, and the small one a mighty nation. I myself, Jehovah, shall speed it up in its own time.â€

E=MC². Energy equals Matter times the speed of light squared. On our Earth, 186,000 miles per second. Time is measured by the speed of light. It is a constant for everyone observing traveling at the same speed. The Creator made the universe 13.7 billion years ago. Jesus was made 2000 years ago. 2000 is to 13.7 billion as 1 inch is to 20 miles.

Or maybe the speed of light is not a constant, recent research appears to show that the speed of light is decreasing. In which case the universe is not billions of years old after all. If you enjoy math and physics, then you might enjoy exploring the subject further.
