And FINALLY Saul went to the Witch of Endor to get 't'ruth, huh! About like 'teaching' that satan told the truth & that God lied! Gen. 3:4 You know.. come on down from heaven Samual! God will not ANSWER me, but some one will!

LOVE ME, CHRIST REQUIRES!!!!
John.3
[1] There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
[2] The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
[3] Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
[4] Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
[5] Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
[7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
[8] The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
[9] Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
[10] Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

Exod.20
[1] And God spake all these words, saying,
[2] I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[3] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[4] Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
[5] Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
[6] And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Deut.11
[1] Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.

1 Sam. 10

[5] After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:
[6] And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned [[into another man.]]

Reversal came also!

1 Sam. 16

[14] But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.[15] And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.

And there were whole sequence's of evil events by Saul & WARNINGS from God, before the Holy Spirit was rejected in & with the Sin Against the Holy Ghost by Saul. (for now, just read Gen. 6:3)
Eph. 4:30 [Documents] this Warning.. 'And GRIEVE NOT the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.'
Yet, this is still CONDITIONAL upon Rom. 8:14 of being LED of Him and not GRIEVING HIM! Also 2 Thess. 5:19 'Quench NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT.'
(If you are still having trouble with this? See how one comes to the ENDING of the 'GREAT TRANSGRESSION' in Psalms 19:13)

Being Born Again is just the [REQUIRED] starting point of Salvation. See Phil. 3...

[11] If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
[12] Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. (See Phil. 4:13)

[13] Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

[14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

[15] Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

[16] Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.

Yet, it is not OVER AS OF YET! Heb. 6:6 + the PROPHECY of Rev. 17:1-5 & Rev. 3:16

These above ones LOVE for Christ is sickening to Him He DOCUMENTS, and will be SPEWED OUT OF HIS MOUTH!
Simply & 'Eternally' put... 'IF ye LOVE ME, Keep MY COMMANDMENTS'! + John 14:24's Born Again ones..

[20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

[21] He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

I personally believe the witch of Endor really did bring up Samuel. There is absolutely nothing in the passage indicating that it wasn't the real Samuel. And having been in the occult for many, many years before being saved, I know much of it is real. Back then, Samuel was in the bosom of Abraham, in the center of the earth, not in heaven. I believe she really did call up his spirit.

The witch of Endor tale has to be troubling to Biblical literalists. Here we have a story about a medium resurrecting a dead spirit. We know from studies of modern day 'mediums' that these people are charlatans
and cannot really talk to the dead. However, ancient people (think the Oracle of Delphi) did believe that such things were possible. Does this story then simply illustrate the lack of scientific knowledge of the NT authors?

Also, the tale is troubling because of the nature of YHWH in the story. YHWH is angry at Saul because he did not attack and kill the Amalakites. Hardly an order in keeping with "Love your enemies".

First of all, my dear, this is an OT story. Not an NT story. And the mediums of today ARE communicating with the spirit world, they just happen to be communicating with demons and don't know it. (I know this for a fact, I used to do it) Also, God took Saul's kingdom because he performed a sacrifice when God said to wait until Samuel came. At which time Saul was told "Obedience is better than sacrifice." I believe it also had to do with Saul not destroying the whole nation or with keeping some of the nations gold, etc., in which he was being disobedient.

There IS just war. God used the Israelites to bring judgment upon very sinful nations. Nations that were sacrificing their babies in fire to false gods and all sorts of atrocities. God is righteous. When he destroyed Sodom and Gommorrah (sp?), he said he would spare the cities if he found even 10 righteous people there. Well, there weren't. So he sent angels to rescue Lot and his family who were righteous, and then destroyed the cities.

I believe that witch did bring up Samuel. It is not possible to communicate with the dead now because they are either in Heaven or in Hell. At that time, the righteous were in Abraham's Bosom in the center of the earth, which was not their final resting place. Once Jesus defeated hell and preached the gospel to them, they went with Him to Heaven, their final resting place.

This story presents me no problem at all, and I am a literalist.
