The Sword of the Lord, and of Gideon.

In my opinion one of the very best stories in Gods word..can be found in Judges starting with chapter 6....

Judges 6:1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

How mighty is the sword of God in what He speaks in power and authority against the enemy. This reminds me of Rev 19:15; 20:7-10.

Mighty Indeed! Gideon and those men routed an army the size of.. well lets let Gods word tell us...

He begins by telling us Gideon had 300 men

Judges 7:7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

Then goes on to tell us the size of the opposing force...

Judges 7:12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.

Glory to God in the Highest!

Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Gods final battle against sin lands the enemy into the lake of fire once and for all, Hallelujah and glory to His name. amen.

What does this have to do with Gideon?

Just as God went before Gideon to battle so will God in the end of days go before us and destroy the enemy.
