We are going up the street to the elder's house for thanksgiving.
My wife and I organized it.
We have several neighbors and their friends coming.
He is old and sick and well, maybe this is his last thanksgiving.

My wife loves to put together a big Thanksgiving feast. We usually invite her brother and his family, my sister, some other friends and family. I think if everyone came we would host a party to about 30 persons. She usually bakes a ham and turkey with mashed spuds, corn, green beans, squash, sweet potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, fresh baked buns, and various pies. Typically we'll have up to about 9 different pies to choose from. I saw she has been working on her list and yesterday she listed only 7 pies. Maybe she's starting to slip up?

One thing I know for sure is that we have left-over food from Thanksgiving in one form or another for about two weeks and it is a real challenge for me to watch how much I consume since I like it so much but can't consume the carbs any more.

That sounds nice.

One year when I was a kid I remember there was a cranberry scare. The news was saying that cranberries caused cancer. My mom ignored it.I think she was the only one that year who ate the cranberries.

We just did our Thanksgiving dinner last Sunday as our family has out grown having it at anyone's house so we rent a banquet hall. We always have it the week before or after as many have other families to go to that day. So much food, so much takeout containers, especially the deserts, LOL. Such a great time of family fellowship and giving God praise and glory for His blessings.

My mom came from a very large family.8 kids.My aunt was a very sweet lady but when she started to drink she turned into

Only nine adults and three kids this year, family and friend family. We all get along great so we will have a joyful time. Not all of us are Christians but we always pray together, you never know what might come of that one prayer. :pray

Happy Thanksgiving to all my fine friends (from Christian forums.net) to the south! Have fun with your families!

I'll be having instant noodles. Since I don't get the day off work, I'll be doing Thanksgiving next Sunday. Until then, I won't be eating much, so I'll have room for the rack of lamb I'll be having on Sunday.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone. We are a blessed people, and have much to be thankful for.

I'm waiting for my wife to finish her flight attendant duties for the day and be home with me this evening. We'll have a dinner together and Skype with our kids and grandkids. We had our big Thanksgiving meal with our son and his family here in New England last weekend, and we'll be visiting our daughter in Hawai'i in January.
