Hello everybody! Top of the morning, afternoon, evening, or night to you depending on where and when you're reading this. :biggrin2 Today is finally March first everyone!! :wootYou know what that means, the coming of spring and Saint Paddy's Day!! :biggrin This month we celebrate the life of Saint Patrick and how led a lot of the Irish to Christ.

We also celebrate our Irish heritage, (like I have quite a bit of Irish in me :)) and the entertainment and beautiful music that Celtic music brings. As well as the fun of leprechauns, parades, and good luck! :biggrin2 Come and enjoy the virtual refreshments, (hopefully virtual corn-beef and cabbage is a lot better than the real stuff) dance (or virtually dance) to the music and come enjoy the Saint Patrick's Day Parade (located down in Cleveland Ohio) on March 17th! Happy Saint Patrick's Day everybody and don't forget to wear green on this day or else prepare to have your cheek virtually pinched. :wink (Don't worry, I will do it gently. :))

Happy Saint Patrick's Day.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!! :biggrin I apologize, I would have gotten back to this thread sooner but I got busy and it's such a beautiful day outside today that I was taking a walk and getting some fresh air. :) Anyways, can I get you any virtual refreshments like a Shamrock Shake, beer, corn-beef and cabbage, or some Shamrock cookies?

Anyways a very special thank you to JohnDB for this year's banner!! :biggrin2 Please come on in and make yourself welcome and enjoy the party. :) Here's some more Celtic music!! :biggrin The last one is my childhood. :')

Oh yeah that's right, you actually like that stuff for real. Doesn't your wife make it or something? You go ahead and virtually eat that mess and I'll go ahead and grab my Shamrock Shake. :biggrin

Btw, I really like these as well. :)

No...
It's my wife's favorite meal. Corned beef was something my wife used to hate the most. I make it and she fights me for the leftovers.

Again like I said, I think I'll stick with my Shamrock Shake. I don't even drink beer because I really don't think that I would like the taste. Maybe virtual beer would be different though. :) Speaking of virtual beer would you like some? :wink

There's many flavors of beer. American beers tend to over do it on the hops which makes them very bitter. European beers tend to focus more on the grain flavors instead of the bitterness of the hops.

Guinness (an Irish beer) is black, rich and extremely bitter. It's better when draft than bottled but still not my idea of a great beer.

But they make every flavor of beer imaginable. From cherry, lemon, honey, and chocolate to the more traditional grain and malt flavors. (Malt is made from barley)
Hebrew women used to make beer for the Egyptians when they were slaves in the Bible... I've seen the hierogliphs.
People have drank this stuff for thousands of years for good reasons...it tastes good.

Don't you ever respond with a simple yes or no? :lol Anyways have you seen The Magical Legend of The Leprechauns yet? I was thinking about watching that tonight. I love leprechauns almost as much as I love the fictional witches and wizards in Harry Potter. :biggrin There's some actors from Harry Potter in it as well. Or at least the actress of Madam Hooch. (Flying instructor) Don't watch this if you don't want to see the very end though.

Oh and the butter fairy is played by the exact same person who plays Professor Slughorn from Harry Potter. Madam Hooch is the wife of Seamus. (Mary I think?)

Also another thing of Saint Patrick's Day is luck. So here are three famous tales of good luck. :) (I just saw a waving cat in the library yesterday so that's how I thought of this.)

A virtual shamrock shake and corned beef is fine.

Okay. John is in charge of the corn-beef but here's your Shamrock Shake. It's both virtually and magically delicious!! :biggrin2 (Also I changed the third video as the other guy never told us the story of the legend. :/)

I'm telling you...
You really haven't had it until you have had mine with the horseradish sauce I make... it'll knock your socks off... well it might not do that but it definitely makes you aware of your nose.

Sorry, but I don't eat horseradish. Oh and here's another trivia point for those of you who don't already know. The Shamrock is different from a clover because it only has three leaves instead of four. Legend says that Saint Patrick taught about the trinity using a shamrock. :)

I grew up hearing the story of my Irish grandfather. He came over during the famous potato famine. He was the 13th son of a farmer and very intelligent so they let him go to college. He ended up a lawyer. I've always loved being Irish. Happy Saint Patrick's day everybody

Happy Saint Patrick's Day Susannah, help yourself to any virtual refreshments that you would like. :) (That third song is also my childhood. :')

Yesterday, I wandered into the Granard Museum Knights and Conquests and posed for a photo, looking a bit like a norman:

It was the hometown of the famous Kitty Kiernan:

I found shelter from a hailstorm in her family pub:

Church was packed for morning mass, and being quite a big church in quite a small town, that was special too :)
