The Third Annual Luck of The Irish Party Thread

No Ireland is part of Britain
My great ancestors are known as Celtiberians, Celtic tribes that inhabited the Iberian peninsula were modern day Spain and Portugal are.

Before the Roman empire ruled Europe around 500BC there were three major civilizations that inhabited it.
In the south east were the Greeks. The north east were the Goths. But the rest of Europe were inhabited by the Celts. It was their golden era

So you see, the Celtic blood line isn't restricted to the Irish despite it being their origin. They spread their seed throughout Europe to as far as modern day Turkey. The land to the south was Greek and the lands in the north east were Gothic.

I hope you found that as interesting as I did. I love history

Well, I'm not as big of a history buff but I did find that interesting as I already knew that Ireland was connected to Europe but not Britain and very interesting that the Irish originated from Spain and Portugal. Anyways, can I offer you any virtual refreshments? :wink

very interesting that the Irish originated from Spain and Portugal

The Celts still originated from Ireland, that's an important fact that should be confused. I would expect an Irish man like my sisters partner to punch me in the mouth if I tried to tell him that... LoL...?

So u live in the states and are from Irish stock, right?

Yes about the states part, but you didn't answer my other question.

Your question about "virtual refreshments"
I don't know what u mean by that but i'll accept some virtual refreshments and find out what u mean by it

well, erin go braugh.

one cant ignore the fact of why green is worn and not orange,

oddly I haven't seen yet any mention of what st.patrick did, and no it had NOTHING to do with drinking, he was maryted and also died bringing the WORD to the celts.

my tolerance for the debauchery that is st. patricks day was removed in savannah which surpassed new York and also Chicago in the celebration and trust me. if I took photos of the revalvry and drunken idiots and flesh shown, I would be banned. I learned NOT to visit savannah during that time.

Lets test your knowledge of Celtic history...

I have Celtic blood in me but my ancestors aren't from Britain.

Where are they from then???
Normandy, france, Bavaria, and or modern day turkey.(Galatia is really the latin word and name for the celt and they were forced to live in what is Galatia, gaul is also the singular word and that is modern day france).

I have celtic blood, scott and irish on my mom's side.

Bavaria, irish, celtic, Wessex, Essex, wales(welch) and scottland are celtic and all of them are actually lower Germanic in origin. at one time the celts held what is mostly the roman empire(all but carthage, and the are called Jordan)

Bavaria is where they came from. its a low german tounge(meaning slang or poor type).

erinland is actually what they call themselves and its got a two meaning to it, land of the angry(irate, iratus from latin) or erin meaning land of the green, which Ireland is very green even from a low flying approach you can see how green it is.i have been to cork.

Virtual beer sounds refreshing, i'll have a pint of that thx

Sure, here you go! :biggrin2

Checkout my first post on the very first page.

Orange the protestant side, green the Catholic, all started by lord Cromwell.

The genocide of the Irish begin with him

Well anyways, let's take a break from all of that Coronavirus stuff and have some more Celtic music. :)

Hey everybody, top of the afternoon to ya! :biggrin Well, today I'm not really feeling the luck of the Irish per-say,.. but I hope that you enjoy this random parade and Happy Saint Paddy's Day anyways. :) (I'm still planning to watch The Luck of The Irish today though like I do every year. :biggrin2)

Interesting the Irish don't drink on the st.Patrick's day, corn beef and cabbage is American only

Sorry for the delayed response guys but I've been busy today. I sure hope that you're all wearing green today. I'm wearing a green unicorn shirt with a Saint Paddy's hat and some shamrocks with a rainbow and a green beaded necklace to go along with it. :D

I posted this last year so unless there's anymore activity on this thread tonight it would be a really good way to end it for this year. :) A special thank you to JohnDB for saving this thread with my banner and it'll definitely be back because of you!! :clap

Just so you guys know, this party is definitely over now, but I meant to say leprechaun hat in my last post.
