Bible Study The Triunity or Trinity of God

Probably the best definition of the Trinity is " There is only one GOD but in the unity of the Godhead are three eternal and co-equal persons, the same in essence or substance but distinct in subsistence or existence"
This has been a battlefield between believers and religious unbelievers and yet the evidence of this is massively seen in the Scripture.I will go into the evidence in detail in the coming weeks but let us go to Romans 10:9-10 - I will not quote the passages referred to so please do this and note the first part states that if specifically speak out that Jesus is LORD ie GOD and believe in our hearts that GOD raised HIM from the dead we are saved. The name Jesus emphasises the humanity of the Second person of the Godhead and LORD emphasises HIS deity. We confessed these truths about HIM when we were saved.
In the definition of the Trinity I made it clear that the Father, the SON, and the Holy Spirit are the same in their essence ie everything true about the character of one person in His deity is true of the other two in the Bible tells us in various places that all things were created by the Father in some passages but also true of the other two members of the Godhead- we will eventually see from the Bible that only 3 persons create, are omniscient, are eternal,are omnipotent, are omnipresent etc.
However, it is evident that all 3 persons exist separately and the easiest example of this is that only the SON of God became a man and died for our sins. Neither the Father nor the Holy Spirit have ever been or will take on humanity.In the Romans passage we saw that we have to believe in the resurrection- essential as this is part of the gospel- please read 1 Corinthians 15:2-4.Who resurrected Jesus, well the Bible tells us that Jesus did in John 10:17-18, the Holy Spirit did in 1 Peter 3:18 and Romans 8:11 and the Father in 1 Peter 1:3 and many other passages.
Resurrection is a work only God can do yet 3 persons were clearly involved. Read these passages. Remember that just believing in the Trinity saves no one but only by recognising our utter depravity and believing in the Person and Work of Jesus are we saved- we saw that it was impossible to be HOLY and that we are totally helpless but the Holy Spirit confirmed the written word that by faith alone we have eternal life see John 3:16 and Ephesians 2:8-10 .When we believe Jesus not only takes away all sins past, present, and future but His righteousness is imputed to our account so whilst we still sin, GOD, sees us as CHRIST ones- that is GRACE.Our faith plus nothing in the GOD-MAN gave us eternal life.

I am as good an example as I know of God's grace and my head reels to this day over the fact that God awarded me with His grace. I grew up in a house tat was filled with Sexual Immorality. My younger sisters were used by my mother to get men into bed and I was instructed by older women and there was a great deal of Incest in my extended family, a fact that one of my cousins is documenting right now to see it stopped for future generations.

In Vietnam I loved my job and the day I caught three NVA soldiers taking a leak in the river, with their backs to me, as we were taking off from an Insertion, I killed all three of them with my machine gun and that night, bought the house a round in celebration.

When I came out of gthe Killing Fields of South Vietnam, I hated civilians and being a singer, I slept with a lot of women, some of them married. And drank whiskey from the time I got out of bed. I was rotten to the core and yet God loved me! God forgave and in Jesus God threw my sins as far as the East is from the West.

If you're not a saved man or woman, you should listen to this or other preachers on this site and in your local area, no matter where you live. At the same time I caution you to carefully purchase a version of the Bible that you can easily read and comprehend and never, ever, read one of these posts nor ever listen to a sermon without taking notes and checking the Scriptural references to see if the poster or the Pastor are being truthful. And if you take issue with any point, ask about it. The only stupid question is the question you did not ask for any reason you invented.

God Bless you Brother for your wonderful description of how you came to the Lord, how he wiped clean your sins & washed them away. Yor quote RE: purchase a version of the Bible that you can easily read and comprehend and never, ever, read one of these posts nor ever listen to a sermon without taking notes and checking the Scriptural references to see if the poster or the Pastor are being truthful. Also to be sure it is of the Lord & not a semi or totally made up remark, made to take you in the wrong direction. I love your comment The only stupid question is the question you did not ask. That statement is priceless, I have to say though that when you talk to most non-believers they assume that any true Christian was born into a Christian family & so like let's say JW's they are brainwashed & know no different But the majority of us came from bad roots in some way or another & are saved through grace & what we learn & know comes from study. Most also believe that all that we study is the Bible & not current events or archeological finds connected with the Bible that prove 100% that it is all true, they believe the lies of the powers that be, that say the Bible is false & nothing has been proven but as we know that is so far from the truth.
