One who dies without having obeyed the gospel certainly has no hope and at the point of death it is indeed unforgiveable. Yet such is not the sin against the Holy Spirit under discussion in Matt.12 and Mark 3.
It appears to me that the unforgivable sin can only be committed by a Christian. When you become a believer you have the Holy Spirit testifying within you that Jesus is the way. The moment you begin saying there is another way you begin blaspheming the Holy Spirit by calling Him a liar. This is broken down in Hebrews 6:4.

They said that Jesus was doing His signs by the power of a demon. They where identifying the Holy Spirit as a demon.
They pointed to the signs and who was causing them to be done. They made the accusation that the Holy Spirit was a demon and they shall never be forgiven for doing it, Ever.
All Praise The Ancient Of Days
In all three references to the unpardonable sin the context reveals Jesus was engaging with unbelievers. The language of Jesus in the context does not limit the possibility of committing this sin to either the believer or unbeliever.
To never have heard is not to blaspheme, to have heard the word and deny it is to blaspheme...
Had the one like you say, that died not hearing the word, if he had may have turned around, but to "deny" the Gospel is to have "heard" the Gospel and reject it.
I'm saying that in the verse you quoted Christ forgave them for blaspheming Him...but warned of a blasphemy that will not be forgiven if done. This is why I refer to Hebrews 6:4..as it later states that it would be like nailing Him to the cross again. Notice the word "again" as to show that this person was once a believer and accepted Christ.
It appears to me that the unforgivable sin can only be committed by a Christian. Are those that blaspheme the Holy Spirit saying there is another way? My understanding is they attributed what Christ did to an unclean spirit. Today when someone commits that sin they blaspheme Christ in us as we speak as the Holy Spirit guides us.
The scripture does not READ nor does scripture TEACH: "---but when a son of man is teaching Words given him by the Holy Spirit then--'it shall not be forgiven him' ".
