Be careful what motivates you.
More sex drugs and hip hop music?
A thrilling affair?
Winning that high status job title?
Earning big bucks?
Gorgeous holidays on far flung beaches sipping Greek champagne?
Getting fame from your latest bestseller?
Seems the very thing that can motivate us, is the polar opposite of what a Christian should cherish.
Jesus wants us to experience death in this life. Death of worldly desires perhaps? You cant serve two masters.
Its hard to let go of all that to be honest. Part of our happiness in this life is a measure of success. Is a sense of making a mark. Leaving a legacy.
Can you honestly say, for instance, you dont care if no one remembers you after you die?
