2 Cor. 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

Isn't love the most powerful weapon? What are others?:dunno :shrug :confused

I don't see "love" as the most powerful weapon, but that will start a loooonnnngggg thread! God's love, sure....

Those weapons, it appears to me, are listed in Eph 6:13-18. They are both defensive and offensive in nature: Truth, righteousness, the gospel, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer.

I would agree that love is a powerful 'force' but 'weapon' - not really. Remember that your title is - The weapons of our warfare'.

Jesus tried to get us to love one another and, where he has succeeded, the world is a better place. That is the opposite of warfare.

Good question Classik. I think that prayer is the most powerful weapon and tool in our arsenal. And faith.

Yet I gave the most powerful weapons and defense according to the Bible. If you want to engage in spiritual warefare.... The Bible tells you what you should have. It ain't even a mystery. The Bible clearly lays out the armour and weapons of our warfare.

Ephesians 6 has a great and comprehensive list of the Christian's armor.

Years ago, a guy called William Gurnall wrote a book called 'The Christian's Complete Armor'; it's basically a commentary on Ephesians 6.

Is 'Love' used in a figurative term?

Pretty stupid question, Classik... Do you see the things in Revelation being "figurative"? That's God's love!

You know I'm not that clever. ;) I just mean common or garden everyday love for our 'loved ones' (VERY powerful) and our innate (?) love for our fellow man.

I can think of no other force which would make me give up my life to save train-load of other people. I THINK I would but until we are put to test, how do we know?

S: Well, Scripture does sometimes use language figuratively, though I guess I don't completely understand classik's question, either.

I said LOVE is such a powerful weapon. Aardverk Kind of disagreed... I was like, do you think love isn't.

I think that John 3.16 may supply the answer.

'For God SO loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son...'

Someone said that the measure of His love is in the greatness of the One Who was given.

Love.... Sheeesh! You'd be better off looking for Truth to find out how to fight. But, no.... Never mind.... Look for love for your weapon. Never mind truth. Just keep loving!

I don't quite follow what you're saying...
