God told how those who thirst are invited to the waters, instead of labouring for what can never satisfy.
Christ gives the water that causes us to never thirst again.
Who is going to thirst for the water that Christ gives, instead of spending money for what is not bread ?
Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.
John 4:12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
This is Jesus confirming that every one who thirsts ( for the water that Jesus gives.) comes to the waters.
For Jesus shows, every one that asks receives, and they who seek shall find.
Jesus also reveals how the people are evil, but they still give their son bread, if he asks for it, and much more God will give the Holy Ghost to those who ask. ( thirsting for the waters that satisfy, and not spending money any longer for the bread that which is not bread, to give to their son.)
Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Now we hear the son, only beloved in the sight of his mother.
To get wisdom, to get understanding, from the words of the fathers mouth.
Wisdom is the principle thing, therefore get wisdom, and with all of our getting, get understanding.
If we exalt ( wisdom ) her, she shall bring us to honour, and she shall give to our head an ornament of grace, a crown of glory she delivers to thee.
Wisdom cries, understanding puts forth her voice.
Wisdom dwells with prudence, finding our knowledge, the fear of the Lord is hating evil and pride and arrogance, and the evil way, and the forward mouth.
His fruit ( fruit of the Sprit. )is better than gold, as he leads in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, to cause those who love him to inherit substance ( the waters that satisfy, and we thirst not again, and the bread, which is bread, we no longer buy to give our son, when we are evil only.) as he will fill our treasures.
The Lord possessed ( wisdom/.the fear of the Lord ) him in the beginning of His way, before His works, set up from everlasting.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, a good understanding have all they that do His commandments, the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.

8 Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9 She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The Spirit of the Lord is witnessed to rest upon the Messiah, to know He who baptises us with the same Spirit.
It is also told this is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding and of the fear of the Lord, making the Messiah/Son of God of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord.
Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of His times ( the Messiah Son of God.) and strength of salvation, the fear of the Lord is His treasure. ( the Lord will fill our treasures.)
Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

Isaiah 33:6 And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.
John bore record of the Spirit remaining on the Messiah.
It is that Spirit ( of wisdom and understanding and of the fear of the Lord.) that gave knowledge to His people by the remission of their sons, God visiting us, giving light to those who sat in darkness, in the shadow of death, to guide our feet to the way of peace.
God commanded the light to shine out of darkness, shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. ( the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord, and wisdom and knowledge would be the stability of His times.)

Every high thing exalts itself against the knowledge of God, ( the knowledge of God is the Spirit of the fear of the Lord, the thirsty, thirst for.) and every one who yet labours for the bread that is not bread, and the drink that satisfies not. ( the wisdom of this world, foolishness with God, and the wise are taken in their own craftiness. 1 Corinthians 3:19.) must be cast down and brought into captivity.
The Apostles are examples of suffering the loss of all such things ( worldly foolish wisdom and bread and drink that is not.) for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord, that we may win Christ.
Adding to godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity, to be in us and make us to neither be barren, nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
