Theism Projected To Be HUGE-ENORMOUS Worldwide By 2050 . . .

JAG ..

To those interested in the "thread wars" that daily take place between Christians and Atheists here inside Thread World on the Internet At Large, the following might be interesting to you. The Atheists on the Internet daily attack not just Christianity, but Theism as well. This means they attack Islam and the Jews -- the three large Abrahamic Faiths ( Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.) The good news is that Theism is projected to be HUGE ENORMOUS worldwide by the year 2050 and Atheism and
Agnosticism is projected to DECREASE in numbers -- this is good news.

So. . .

Theism worldwide is very strong and very healthy.
`
2.8 billion Muslims plus 2.9 billion Christians by 2050.
`
That comes out to 5.7 billion Theists by 2050? And that's not counting the Jews.
`
5.7 billion Theists is going to be a lot of Theists by 2050
`
Projected growth of Christianity by 2050
Some of the projections are as follows:
[96]
  1. Over the 2010-2050 period, Christians will remain the largest religious group with 30.7% of the world’s population. However, Islam will grow faster and become 29.7% of the world’s population. Therefore, by 2050 there will be 2.8 billion Muslims compared to 2.9 billion Christians.
  2. “In the United States, Christians will decline from more than three-quarters of the population in 2010 to two-thirds in 2050.”
  3. “Four out of every 10 Christians in the world will live in sub-Saharan Africa.”

_____________

Christendom, according to the linked article, will decline in the United States by 2050, however . . .

. . . here below is some better news:

Christendom is growing HUGE in the Global South.
`
Christianity is growing HUGE in Africa.
`
Christendom is growing HUGE in China. There is a HUGE "underground" Christianity in China. House Church.
`
Christianity is HUGE in South Korea --and growing.

Also this: The Sovereign God can bring a Christian Revival to America resulting in a HUGE growth of Christianity in America and the entire West. I hope and pray that God will do exactly that.

`

Atheists like to call themselves 'brights' indicating they are more intelligent then those with faith.
Interestingly most atheists are not aware that there ' rights ' etc all come from Christian morality.
They struggle to base there moral believes in there atheism.

A book we should all think about reading is by atheist Tom Holland ' Dominion, the making of Cthe Christian mind.

It is a history book of how Christianity has so influenced the west that there is very little difference between Christian and non Christian.
This is changing, the book is well worth a look.

Which kinds of theism?

Oz

A few years back, I had the same strategic mentality as the State of Israel, in that I tried their "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". By this, I mean I approached a major atheist internet group hoping to present to them an opportunity to see and expose a sex cult masquerading as a church (Episcopal).
I told them they had no moral foundation to draw on since they allow the Episcopal Church to conduct wholesale molestation of children and fail to expose massive Church engagement in adultery and fornication. They said they viewed the Episcopal Church favorably and it was one of the few Christian denominations they supported.
The Episcopal Church is a harlot.

JAG,

Which kinds of theism?

Oz

"What kinds of Theism?"__Oz

The term "Theism" is quite often {but not always} used to refer to the 3 Abrahamic faiths, which are:
{1} Christianity
{2} Islam
{3} Judaism

The first paragraph in my Opening Post explained as follows:

JAG Wrote:
"To those interested in the "thread wars" that daily take place between Christians and Atheists here inside Thread World on the Internet At Large, the following might be interesting to you. End quote.

Some questions:
{1} Why do I think that it is a good thing for the world to have more Theists than less Theists? Answer: Because of the constant and vicious attacks made against Christianity daily here inside Thread World on the Internet At Large by these so-called "new atheists" and their many followers. It is the new atheists that viciously attack Christianity, and NOT the Muslims and the Jews. Yes it is true that there are a few Muslims that are critical of Christianity occasionally, nevertheless Muslims generally do not attack Christianity --- and the Jews do not attack Christianity.
So the "short answer" is because the large numbers of activist-thread-atheists viciously daily attack Christianity on the Internet and the Muslims and the Jews do not generally attack Christianity anywhere.

{2} Do I believe that the Muslims and Jews {which are Theists} are more likely to be converted to Christianity than non-Theists? Yes I do believe that. One reasons is both the Muslims and Jews already have an established relationship with the Bible through their connection with Abraham and therefore they have an established relationship with the God of the Bible.

{3} What do Muslims believe about the Lord Jesus?
"Muslims believe that Jesus (called “Isa” in Arabic) was a prophet of God and was born to a virgin (Mary). They also believe he will return to Earth before the Day of Judgment"__Off the web

So?

So believing all that at least can be an "open door" to preach the gospel to them because they already believe that the Lord Jesus is a prophet of God, and they have a strong relationship with Abraham. The non-Theistic religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism do not have any of those beliefs, and in my view are far more difficult to "reach with the gospel."

{4} Do I hope and pray that the entire world will become Christian and that there will come a time when Islam and Judaism will no longer be world religions? Yes of course I do. By the way, that will happen before human history ends. The Lord Jesus' Great Commission to His Christian Church was given in Matthew 28:16-20. When the Lord Jesus told His Christian Church to go and make disciples of all the nations, He was not kidding, He really meant it. And He explained to them what their power would be, in order to get that accomplished. It was HIS POWER. He said "all authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me therefore go and make disciples of all the nations." This is going to happen. Nothing can stop it. The Lord Jesus cannot be defeated. Victory will be His. He shall have dominion.
The Lord Jesus "shall have dominion from sea to sea" Psalm72:8
"the whole earth will be filled with His glory" Psalm 72:19
"all nations will call Him blessed" Psalm 72:17
"the gospel is the power of God unto salvation" Romans 1:16
"go and make disciples of all the nations" Matthew 28:19

A closing word about the "new atheists" on the Internet: There are 4 that are called the "new atheists" that have written books attacking Theism, and especially attacking Christianity. Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, and the late Christopher Hitchens. Their books became very popular and they gained a following that I call activist-thread-atheists that parrot back the ideas in those books in threads on the Internet. Also their followers are all over You Tube with videos attacking Christianity {and Theism}, for example the videos of Matt Dillahunty president of the Atheist Community Of Austin.

JAG,

When we speak of theism, we need to understand that people around the world and in our Western culture practise various kinds of theism:
  • pantheism;
  • panentheism;
  • polytheism;
  • ditheism;
  • maltheism;
  • Henotheism;
  • Kathenotheism;
  • Cardenotheism.
Monotheism is the umbrella for the 3 major world religions: Christian, Islam and Judaism.

In my view, it is an error to want more theists unless theism is defined comprehensively. Do you want more Muslims? How about Jews? Do you want more polytheists and pantheists?

Thanks Oz,
I know. You probably didn't see the first paragraph in the post you replied to -- where I said this:

Yes I do -- as explained in the Opening Post and in my other post in this thread.
I explained why very very carefully in this thread. You probably overlooked my explanations.

Thanks for your comments Oz.

i dunno. strident atheists bother me at a number of levels, but organized religion can be rough on people, and societies, too. blah. sometimes, it seems like the worst, most reactionary and damaging ideas and policies gain traction by getting support from organized religious groups-- whether its a right wing subset of the catholic church, conservative Protestantism, or some strains of Islam-- and that bothers me, especially as a Christian. :)

It seems we are heading in that direction. My sisters would tell you they are christian, but they do not go to church and don't even pray, or read the bible. Christian is very superficial nowadays, and its likely the rapture will happen and the Antichrist will be on the scene by 2050. I would not be gobsmacked if it doesnt happen but i will be really really surprised. The world is getting worse at a very fast pace.
