"these last days"

Heb. 1:2 "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

Are we to understand Heb. 1:2 as meaning the writter believed he was living in the "last days" or was writting for the future "last days?"

touton=of these
eschatos=extrem, last in time or in place, last in a series of places, last in a temporal succession
hemera=the day, used of the natural day

So, are we in the last days now or does this speak to the folks reading Hebrews during the time it was penned...or is it set for the future?

JM

It refers to the time of the writer of Hebrews, not today. Of course there are futurist who in order to get around the obvious insist the "last days" have now lasted 2000 years and counting.
