Things Under the Earth

Ph'p:2:9: Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Ph'p:2:10: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Ph'p:2:11: And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

I don't think he's talking about cave crickets.

you mean what are "things" ? Well most want to think things don't exist. Because it's not compatible with what they are able to accept. I never understood that kind of selective reality. Found some more 'things', even 'man' :

Revelation 5:3  And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.

and 'creatures':

Revelation 5:13  And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

regarding things...well there several views. One is contemporary and scripture based, like for example

Is Hell for Real???
www.moresureword.com/hellis.htm

that's most likely the least disturbing one. There are other views from pastors working in deliverance ministries, it's a bit hard to handle to even read some of that.

under the earth i guess is anything in hell or inside the earth. demons, souls etc

Do you think that demons or souls actually live in the earth's core? that Hell is a physical place under the planet's crust?

Yes, the Bible teaches that Hell is a literal place, and it is inside the earth. Everyone in Hell will will eventually acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord.

So then our scientific instruments should be able to detect it. Why do you suppose that has not happened? There should be several billion people there by now.

Why do you suppose that corpses remain where they were buried? Why are not the bodies transferred to Hell?

What happens if an atheist Russian astronaut dies in outer space or on another planet? Do they go to a place inside that other planet?

i do believe in hell, just want to where the exact verses on it's location is.

It's actually sheol/hades, since hell has not yet been filled.
Numbers 16:30 said:
and if a strange thing Jehovah do, and the ground hath opened her mouth and swallowed them, and all that they have, and they have gone down alive to Sheol -- then ye have known that these men have despised Jehovah.

Jesus descended to hades before He was resurrected to gather the OT saints who were waiting there in the section known as Paradise or Abraham's bosom.

that's the grave then. as its not the place of torment. the spirit of men cant be detected by scientific means. i have familiar that verse, but what of the location of the lake of fire. the real"hell".

(Ezekiel 26:20--then I will bring you down with those who descend into the Pit, to the people of old, and I will make you dwell in the lowest part of the earth, in places desolate from antiquity, with those who go down to the Pit, so that you may never be inhabited; and I shall establish glory in the land of the living (NKJV))

Many verses describe going down, descending, the lowest parts of the earth, etc. Does this describe inner earth? I believe it does, but I guess it depends on how you want to interpret these verses.

Does the above verse describe paradise and hell? I believe it does, but once again, I guess it depends on how you care to interpret it.

There is sheol/hades which is a place of waiting...under the earth.
If you look up Sheol in Young's, you'll see all the verses that are translated hell.
Numbers 16:30 said:

Jesus descended to hades before He was resurrected to gather the OT saints who were waiting there in the section known as Paradise or Abraham's bosom.
Acts 2:30-32 (Young's) said:
a prophet, therefore, being, and knowing that with an oath God did swear to him, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit upon his throne, having foreseen, he did speak concerning the rising again of the Christ, that his soul was not left to hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. `This Jesus did God raise up, of which we are all witnesses;

Then there is the lake of fire where death and hades will be cast.
Revelation 20:13-15 (Young's) said:
and the sea did give up those dead in it, and the death and the hades did give up the dead in them, and they were judged, each one according to their works; and the death and the hades were cast to the lake of the fire -- this [is] the second death; and if any one was not found written in the scroll of the life, he was cast to the lake of the fire.

Oops, I see I posted this before I was ready. :confused

Yes, the lake of fire is different than hell.
I love my KJV, but it translates everything hell...including the grave.
I always have to look to Young's if I want to see which is which.

But do you believe Hell is a real physical place inside the earth?
