Third Heaven

According to ancient Jewish beliefs, there are seven heavens. The first is the heaven where the birds fly (the sky), the second is where the stars are (outer space). I'm not sure of the order of the rest, but I think the third heaven is where the angels are, the fourth is where the dead await judgement. I'm not sure about the next two, but I think they had something to do with the heavenly tabernacle. The seventh heaven is where the throne of God is.

Oats,
The 3rd heaven is where God resides. Paul mentions only a third heaven. He doesn't seem to acknowledge any more (as some Jewish beliefs)
Here's a really good article including the 3rd heaven:
The Third Heaven is above this higher "Sea," and this higher sea is before and below the Throne of God:

Personally, I believe Paul was "caught away" (from the Greek) to the third heaven in time.

Peter sets it forth in 2 Peter 3:5-7, "For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word of God are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men." KJV.

So, there was the heavens of old, the heavens and earth which are now, and I believe the New Heavens and Earth, we read of in Rev. 21 ff, is speaking of the third heaven in time.

I understand Paul, in spirit, was caught away to see and hear some of the glories of this heaven and earth. For he could see the glorious gardens (paradise) in the New Jerusalem.

Yes that site you given about third heaven and structure of things I very interesting, and seems plausible. However as I got to the verses which they used to back their claims and visions of water or frozen, glass or what ever you want to call it, does not match well with the context which it was written. Therefore making their theory with relevance to the bible invalid.
FOr example, eziekiel; what I thought he saw was actually an advanced technology craft. Rushing waters(engine running) , helicopter like (angel wings) which dropped as it stopped moving.

"And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind."
(Revelation 4:6 KJV)

Read before this it says,
4 1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be h ereafter. 2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven.
Therefore this vision was already set past the heavens door. Making rev/4 verse questionable, whether the sea of glass is really outside or inside.

There are three heavens:
First heaven - The firmament, Earths Atmosphere -which is the immediate sky, where the “fowls of the heaven” (Genesis 2:19; 7:3,23; Psalms 8:8, etc.), “the eagles of heaven” (Lamentations 4:19), it is our atmosphere that surrounds the earth.

Second Heaven - Outer Space, the starry heavens (Deuteronomy 17:3; Jeremiah 8:2; Matthew 24:29).
The second heaven is the starry heavens, where our atmosphere ends. It is the heavens in which the sun, moon, and stars are fixed in orbit.

Third Heaven - This is where God and the holy angels (and creatures) and spirits of just men dwell. It is called “The heaven of heavens,” (Deuteronomy 10:14; 1 Kings 8:27; Psalms 115:16; 148:4). (1Kings 8:27) - “The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you.” (Psalm 2:4) The One enthroned in heaven laughs; The LORD scoffs at them.”
The third heaven is beyond the space and stars. Where no man has seen by telescope. This heaven is the dwelling-place of God.

I believe Bick is correct. The third heaven is actually the third earth age of heaven and earth combined. The third heaven begins the 8th day, just after the millennium ends. Now I could be wrong about that, for those of you who like to argue!
