I was reading an article by associated press and it was called 10 coolest catholic celebrities and before it anounced them it said something like these celebrities are still popular even though they love jesus, or something like that... Why does it matter if they love jesus or not? I applaud these celebrities for their love in the lord and not to be taken down by the media for this. Well first on the list was Gwen Stefani, and i thought i would mention this because shes someone i look up to, and she also gave me encouragement to be more active in my religon, But its sickening how the media treats their religon, i was really offended when i saw the news report say "even though they love jesus". I hope we see more people in the spotlight who love the lord because it encourages people to love the lord, and i hope other people get influenced by her because she is very big in the spotlight.

A celebrity who I can honestly say I respect and find inspiring is Denzel Washington, he is a Christian and is the son a minister. Only the Lord can know His heart, but he seems like a great guy.

Yes Gwen Stefani does go a little too flashy and her music isn't the best for Christians..but she still serves our God. Which to me means way more than what she does. Yes actions tell you a lot but still.

That is really offensive but it is understandable. The media is like I guess you could say "someone that says something with a hint of going against it". They try not to make it obvious but it is like bold print to most Christians.

I feel bad for Brad Pitt though. Admitting that he didn't believe in God and doesn't believe he exists. that hurt.

I know tho, we as christians are not supposed to do anything that could cause a brother or sister to fall.

Don't apologize!! You are in the right to say what you have said. I agree with you. I was simply placing the immedidate solution with the individual (you and I) so others could see. I'm sure most here do understand but some may not.
I used to defend certain celebs to my parents, often quoting their lyrics and such. At the time I really didn't see anything wrong with them and I sincerly believe no harm was done to me then. It wasn't until I became more worldly and less innocent that I began to become affected.
Like Paul said, if your heart doesn't condemn you it isn't sin...for you. But honesty is the main factor in that equation.

Actually this song was written about the temptation in the night life scene, its says "With my makeup bag watchin all the sin
Misfit, I sit
Lit up, wicked
Everybody else surrounded by the girls
With the tank tops and the flirty ways" Its talking about how she is sitting there watching all the sin and being tempted, but she doesnt say she ever falls into the temptation, i definatley dont see how you could be tempted by this song.....

you're either naive or i misunderstand you, a person who struggles with any sin doesnt put themselves in that situation of observing it like that and i'll struggle with issues of porn think about that one, if she's a christian why talk about that sin that way, a bar is no place for a christian unless he or she reaching out to someone, and that is whole another thread.
