I am a student leader for young life. Each week we have challenges. This week my challange is as follows: Take the time to talk to someone about Jesus Christ that you don't know. Get to know them and the things they are going through and tell them the Good news.
You've got nothing to lose.

My problem is this, how exactly do I approach someone that I don't know and tell them "The Good News" ?

Please Pray for me and that I will have the faith and courage to lean on God for strength and words.

I've been reading matt 10:19-20 It says "19 When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. 20 For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."

I have been thinking about this verse and trying to memorize and believe it.

One thing that a Christian often forgets is that sharing the gospel can be done in as many different ways as there are Christians to share it. The real trick is being confident enough in how well you know what Jesus did for you to just tell it when the time comes. We've all seen Jesus in different ways, so the best place to start is how he became real to you and how that relates to who he is.

Most non-christians don't want to hear "the good news" and doing so usually pushes them further away. Set what you think is a good example and if they're interested they'll ask you or look into christianity themselves. I think it'd be a better challenge just to be what you think a good christian is and set a good example for those around you instead of just preaching at people.

Exactly.
Maybe if "Christians" acted like Christians there would be less hostility and you'd find that people might be curious why you are like you are.
Hmmmm, perhaps a new thread.....
