If the bible is correct and the road to life is narrow, most will go to hell.
So out of all of those people your God creates, most will fail to enter heaven.

So how have Christians won the war, if most are lost?

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Because it is not up to us to facilitate our Salvation, other than to accept it through Faith in Christ. If it were up to us humans to "earn" our way into heaven the place would be completely empty. But because Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our sin we are afforded what would otherwise impossible to attain.

First and foremost it is not about us, it's about him. God can do what he wants. If he says that he's building his eternal family and only a few get in.....he can do that. If most people got in, it would just look like how the earth looks like right now. I would not want to spend eternity on earth. Christians win the war because if everyone looks like Jesus..........that is where I want to be!

You think there's going to be a family in heaven? How did you arrive at such conclusions.

hi

that is very accurate

they say about 1-2% of Christians may make it to heaven

so basically we win the odd battle

but ultimately we are losing the war

however when it comes to equality and peoples rights and beliefs

they are still entitled to hear the free salvation message of receiving eternal life

they can decided to accept it or reject it

but like you said that only person wining or losing in the end will always be our selves

so what ever we permit or deny our selves can be our reward or demise

there's a verse in the bible that says be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap
Galatians 6.7

its ironic because we can believe any thing we want or say anything we want

but if we are mistaken in our beliefs or philosophies

its going to be to late to change our minds when we pass away

so winning or losing will always be.....

our own choice

We don't win the war. God does. The Kingdom of Heaven is given to everyone who believes on Jesus. Jesus is the way to God. The one and only way. Jesus taught, died, and rose again for our sakes so that we can be right by God. Forgiving our sins and often teaching to turn from or sins (repent), turn to God, and follow Jesus. As long as we hold to God and follow Jesus, He will keep us. In fact we can hold to the hope that God will hold on to us if we believe, and nothing in heaven or on earth can shake us from God's salvation.

So why is the road narrow? Wish I knew better myself. God's influence on my life has been so obvious and easy to see, that I've had to struggle with how people miss it in their own lives. The road should be broad with those seeking God because they notice Him and search for Him because of it.

I know of two other times that Jesus explains that many will not find the path. One when Jesus's disciples ask why Jesus doesn't teach publically, Jesus answered that His message is not for the world because the world is not seeking Him. The second is Jesus's parable of seed falling on 4 soils. Each soil explained by how we react to God's word, and the seed as explained in the parable is the Word or the Message of the Kingdom of Heaven.

There's more to say about why the way is narrow, but why dwell on that. Instead look to God. Look for Him. Seek Him in your life and seek Him from the lives and experiences of others. God wants you, but you need to seek Him.

Narrow paths are narrow because they lie between two other things.

Now the message from that bible passage is this: It's a warning that Godly or Christian spiritual matters requires carefulness especially in this world where deceits, evil and demonic operations are the order of the day. So Christians and any who will listen, beware the road to heaven is narrow; you must be careful as you can easily be trapped into the ways of this world. the passage is not to mean that few christian will get to heaven.

It only seems weird to you because you don't really study this stuff, but have a cursory knowledge of it and formed/were taught many presuppositions about it, which are wrong so it clouds your thinking.

Right. A word study of the term "narrow" actually means "tribulation".

Then maybe you should pledge a good conscience towards God and go to the Son so that you won't be one on the wide road. Is it a narrow road you don't like or is it Jesus? The tomb is still empty.

The God of the bible punishes sin. It was God who sent Jesus out of love. Those that refuse that message are on the wrong road.

What war? I know at the command of God Jesus will reman in heaven until God makes His enemies His footstool. So if God asked you, "do you want to do evil" what is your reply? Gods enemies are those who do evil and teach others to do evil. God Love is this,
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 NIV

"Narrowness" can be understood in more than one sense. If Jesus is the only way to God, then he (Jesus) is indeed a "narrow" path in comparison to those who believe "all paths lead to God." The "few will find it" language is more problematical. If all sincere Christians found it, however, this would indeed be "few" in comparison to all persons who have ever lived. The language isn't necessarily talking about a single-file path that only a tiny number of Christians will be able to walk down one at a time. There is no reason to think "few" is some miniscule number.

Whether an individual walks down the narrow path and passes through the small gate is up to him or her. God obviously created humans with the free will to make this choice, accepting that many of them would make the wrong choice. There is no "competition" between God and Satan in the sense of there being any possibility of Satan ever emerging the "winner." This was God's plan from day one. Satan is allowed to exist only because he serves God's plan; without him, our free will choices would be less clear. It is absurd to speak of winners and losers in the context of God, but in the end God's plan will be fulfilled. If the number of those who enter God's eternal kingdom exceeds those who suffer hell or annihilation along with Satan, in no sense will Satan or those who follow him be the winners. God knew what the end result would be, before he ever created the world, when he decided to glorify himself by incarnating and atoning for the sins of those who would choose to turn to him. You have to remember that the Incarnation was God's plan from before the creation of the world, not some Plan B he turned to when Adam and Eve surprised him by sinning.

I don't see verses such as this as really talking about ontological truth - i.e., there is some exceedingly narrow path out there that is darn difficult to find. I see them primarily as a warning to Christians to make sure that they are right in the middle of the path to God and that they stay there.
