What do you think of all the new drone laws and the proposed drone laws. Have they gone too far or not far enough. Do you think that they will adopt single rotor helis in as well?

.
The first person that has a drone that comes close to hitting me or anything I own should be put to death by being sent to ISIS with a banner around them asking if Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi or Allah is their God. Amazon has an interest in using drones for delivery; may their company crash and burn with the first accident they experience, their employees dispersed to McDonalds, and all existing assets dispensed to Bernie Sanders to buy a second pair of underwear. Wait just a minute, I just read the Bernie is worth $700,000; what is a so-called socialist not sharing all that with me? I recommend sending him to Syria delivered by drone also dressed as Mohammed. :clap

The larger ones are a real hazard, if used carelessly. The small ones won't do much, but the rotors, if they hit a person in the face, could easily blind an eye. FAA requires only that those over 0.55 pounds be registered, and most of the hobby drones are smaller than that.

Texas has a new drone law that is reasonable, but it does protect pipeline operators and farmers from people checking them for violations by drone. Political payoffs are inevitable. FAA is supposedly working out a way to permit commercial use of drones, presently forbidden.

If you have a drone, you might want to download the Flight Safety Guide from the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Keep it handy, with a copy of the state laws. Wouldn't hurt to be able to document the weight of your drone, either. And follow the Guide.

Mostly, don't fly over people, over busy highways, sensitive government facilities, or areas where people have an expectation of privacy, such as fenced back yards. Be sure you have control of the drone, and err on the safe side.

I've had a police officer stop to talk to me, mostly just curious, and after I showed him the laws and guides, and my pre-flight, he had no problem with me flying as I was. But that won't always be effective. Be prepared to have to shut down, until you can get a definitive ruling from the local authorities.

Just another example of Big Government taking away your freedom and being more intrusive in your life. There is no such thing as privacy. It's ok for them to watch you from space but not ok for someone else to fly around and photograph what they want in a supposedly free country. How long before they start having checkpoint's asking why you want to go to the next state. If your not doing anything wrong what someone records with their drone is of no consequence. The only thing I do agree with is the safety issue. I think any drone owner should be required to "Learn" how to fly the machine before they can purchase it. There are plenty of good pc trainers out there. I want the government to stay out of everything. Socialist Amerika

The reason they want to is because of things that fly in the air.we register aircraft, those tail wing numbers are faa registry. Cars ,mobile homes and rv.

Idiots would go to an airport and fly them while the Jets would take off.remember what simple 4 geese dI'd to a jet in nyc.a drone will do the same.

I'm ok with the height law. But they won't stop there. Already people are being stopped by police to be questioned. The law does not have a right to stop you and question you for curiosities sake.

So if I'm walking on private property whose parking isn't there's they do.been there.some lots fir stores here are on lots whose parking lots aren't theirs.if it's suspicious.I like taking pic.do I have the right to fly my drone and snap a photo of you in your car?

After years of flying RC planes I'm worried that what's going to happen is the government is going to legislate the whole hobby out of existence because of stupid actions of people with no common sense. This used to be a hobby that was very well self regulated, and no one was stupid enough to fly an RC airplane in the path of full scale planes at an airport!

What about bombs on rc cars. C4 on drones. I mean that's what they will actually use as the reason why. Not an idiot with no common sense. And someone will do it. Just because they can. And bye bye rc helis drones and cars. :sad

Yet they did.I knew better but people fly drones from their yards.rc planes you had to have a field. Here it was the fair grounds.aND still is .

I used to go there when I was an stinger crewmember and track those.

I saw this coming a couple of years ago. Yes, the government is New Babalon, in it's own way and single rotors and fixed wings will come under this law.

But you also must add to this the intentional stupidity exhibited by the new class of out law RC Pilots and the good must suffer with the bad. Hey, that's even scriptural.

Concur! With the airports knowledge and permission I have even flown on their taxi-way and tarmac while the runway way active, that WILL never happen again, will it?
They have no way of knowing what kind of a freak I am and these idiots have set a new standard.

I agree too. But do you legislate the hobby or the hobbyist?.
There is no limit to what can be done with the RC Aircraft, chopper, quadchopper or fixed wing. With that being true, the idiots will legislate both, like they can enforce it... they can only keep the honest honest.
