NUMBERS 20

10 Then Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock, and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels: shall we bring water for you out of this rock?” 11 And Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock with his staff twice, and water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock. 12 And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe in me, to uphold me as holy in the eyes of the people of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land that I have given them.” 13 These are the waters of Meribah, where the people of Israel quarreled with the Lord, and through them he showed himself holy.

THE WORST DECISION EVER MADE

Water had come from the rock before by Moses striking the rock Exodus 17. So surely it would come by the same method.

Moses had been told to speak to the rock, he had the clear instructions from God. But anger and disbelief took over.

Clearly he focused on the people and to be honest, they were a pain, but all he had to do, was to speak to the rock, but in anger, he struck it.

We make rash decisions like Moses and like David and yes we have forgiveness, but there are terrible consequences.

God opened the rock for the people, water flowed out, they got what they wanted.

Sometimes, we get what we wanted in the short term, but in the long term, our disobedience and rebellion, lead to unparalleled disaster .

Moses did not set foot in the promised land, he did see it.

Don't make a rash decision based on the flesh, do all God tells you to do.

Don't lose God's blessings. Moses did, even though he begged God to let him the promised land.

God bless you

GALATIANS 4

4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. 6 And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

A KINGS KID

My daughter, gave me the name KK, so now everything refers to me as KK.

I didn't like it at first, but I realised that it stood for Kings Kid.

If there is one doctrine in the bible that should bring reassurance to the believer, it is this one of adoption. When we fully grasp it, we can rest securely in our fathers arms and be at peace.

It shows the trinity of Father, Son and Spirit in action, look at verses 4 and 6, God has sent, both Jesus and the Spirit.

One was sent for salvation and the other for sanctification, one for redemption and one to help us in our daily lives.

Adoption is our privilege, we are no longer slaves, we are now sons.

All through Galatians, Paul has a strong and forceful debate, with the Judaizers, who said that obedience to the law was necessary for salvation.

When we trust in Christ for salvation, we become sons and daughters of God

John 1

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Romans 8

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
We say creation, redemption etc are through the three fold operation of the trinity, well so is adoption.
We are now in a love relationship, a relationship based on a loving obedience to a master who loves us, a true father, who deals with us, in a perfect way.
He is the best father anyone can ever have.
Is he your father?
Has Jesus redeemed you?
Has the Holy spirit been sent into your heart?

God bless you
