That certainly was a special time but on this day we salute all who have worn and do wear the uniform, especially those we know.

1000 WWII vets die each day.
Lord have mercy on their souls.
My father who has passed away, he was there on the beaches.
He did not talk about it.
I was USAF, my son is USMC.
I wish there was no more war.

thanks we are missing one.

lewis w served and reba's grandson is still over there.

My grandfathered was in the navy during WWII. He was the captain of a ship at D-Day. Funny story, he almost killed Churchill and Eisenhower the week before D-Day... :lol

God bless them all.

And I got lots of friends in the military, but this looks like its for WW2 only

i dont think the op will mind. i can add my great father joe cranman who served in ww1. and my 2 nd cousin paul cranman that served in korea.

yah get the idea that cranmans serve their country.

In that case...

My cousin Dick, who flew helicopters for the Army in Vietnam. My Uncle Ben who was in Korea. My four cousins (well, two are biological, two are in-laws...) Jen and George who served in the army and also Kate and John who served in the Air Force, John is still serving just got back from a fire base in Afghanistan few months ago were he directed artillery strikes.

Some friends:
Caleb in the Coast Guard.
Dylan in the Army.
Steve in the Army.
Ian in the Marines.
Pedro in the Air Force.
David in the Army.
Other David in the Air Force.
Ant in the Army.
Jen in the Army.

And my teachers Mr Cassey and Mr Prytko, both in the CT National Guard.

I think that covers them all.

God Bless.

Edit, wow apparently my old HS puts out a lot of military people... Never thought it was that many until I wrote it down.

lol liberals in the national guard! oh my.

just kidding. is it a tradition of the pard family to serve? i know my grandpa WAS NOT happy when i got out of the army.

i did a two yr break from the service. i went to the irr during that time frame.its a family tradition to serve. i am the last of my dad name to serve that will and could carry the name. as my bro has girls one of them could the either i dont think will be able to join. long story.

my sister has kids but they are grahams(they would count but not as cranmans).

Nope those teachers are the most conservative adults I know (keyword adult, I know MANY conservative teens and young adults).

Not really a tradition. My grandfather served, but it was WWII. It's a tradition on my aunt and uncle's side, that's for sure. They all grew up army brats and he was a colonel and his father was a general and his grandfather was a general and I imagine it goes back. Both their daughters served and one met her husband that way and had to leave the AF because her husband wanted to become an officer and she was enlisted. Now he's a colonel and I'm sure all their kids will go into the military.

Once I get my weight issue out of the way (about a year) I'd even consider enlisting but they won't take me on the count that I can go into that allergy shock thing were your throat closes. Even though it only happens when I eat apples and pears... :shrug It's alright, I figure I'll start a new tradition... all my kids better become cops or else :D
