You will reach more people if you chill and let them come to you. If they ask you great! One thing I have learned is that when you are sharing the Gospel you need to figure out do I want to really help this person or do I just want to be right? I am guilty of wanting to be right but I am trying to fix that. If someone comes up to you and says "hey what's this Jesus buisness about?" take a moment and ask God to give you the desires of your heart so your not desiring just to "win the debate" There's my rant.
You have a good point there about not desiring to Just win the debate.
But what about all these Christian denominations,Roman Catholic,Protestant,Baptist,Methodist,Lutheran,Anglican,Mormons and Jehovah's Witness etc etc
What about if asked ''which is the right one''?
Well they are all right yet none of them are right. The only thing that is for certain is the Bible. If anything in those denominations contradicts the Bible it is wrong, if not then it is just their way of expressing their faith. Right for them, maybe not the right fit for you, just as long as it is in step with the Word. ;) Try doing some research on these denominations and do some Bible study along with that and see what you think.
Yeah they do, they just express it in different ways. A Catholic might express their faith by saying the rosary and a Protestant might do a devotional. Is one better than the other? No. Is one right? No. they are just different.
However there are some differences in beliefs like with Catholics about how they believe in praying to the saints, and Luterans don't. So yeah there are differences but they all believe Jesus did die and he is the savior. Honestly Jesus is Jesus and he accepts everyone so who cares who is right? If they all believe in Christ then they are all right.
If this is about Jesus then shouldn't the denominations, for example the Catholic Church, shouldn't they say it's about the Pope?
Or the Lutherans, shouldn't they say it's about Luther?
I'm sorry I don't get what you are saying.
Lutheran, here. No, it's not about Luther. Sola scripta - the Word made flesh. I believe no one will accept the word as the Word, absent the Word Himself. Before anyone accuses me of worshiping the Bible, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying we cannot convince anyone that the Bible is the Word of God. It's an honor to be made a willing vessel to be used to Share Christ. God turns the heart to make them believe in the Word.
Your two first posts seemed to go in different directions. Is there a central point you're getting at?
