Toy Story 3

Having brought up my kids with the Toy Story 3 trilogy, this series has had significant meaning to me. I remember vividly, pushing my son around in a shopping cart at the grocery story singing, "You've got a friend in me... :sing

Also, with my son moving on to high school, this particular installment is even more meaningful as it deals with the kid growing older and moving on from childhood things. :crying

There are some great talking points, one of which has to deal with our usefulness even when it seems we are no longer "being used". Also, the movie talks about the boy (who owns the toys) still caring deeply for them, even though some of the toys feel that he has forgotten about them. (Does this resonate with anyone who has felt abandoned at times?)

For those with kids, and even with those without, this movie is terrific. It struck a chord with me as a parent, and even though it might not strike the same chord with you, I think you will love it!! :thumb

"You've got a friend in me. (dannutada) You've got a friend in me. (dannutada) When you feel miles ahead, and you're far away from your nice warm bed, ohh, you've got a friend in me. Yeah, you've got a friend in me!"... love, God. :)

I watched it Saturday night and it was wonderful! And hilarious! And sad! I highly recommend that everyone watch it...I'm going back!

I was born in 1992, so grew up with the first two and they've always been a part of my life, so I am getting really excited about the third one. From what I've heard, it's BETTER than the other two, which is a big feat. I think I'll be seeing it in the next week - can't wait! I also love all the references obviously aimed at adults. :)

Awwww...Tim and Caroline: I sense a date! :heart :heart :muchlove :love2 :twolove :twolove

you've got a friend in me...

:D

I was born in '91. I actually remember going to see the first movie in '95, it's vague but I still remember it. I went with my dad, mom, uncle, and aunt. The movie was sold out (Thanksgiving weekend) but some how my uncle got tickets still. The day after I had to go out and get a Woody toy, and I still have it!

I do not recall Toy Story 2 as vividly as I recall the first one. The coolest part is, though, that I have always been the same age as Andy, more or less.

Saw Toy Story 3 the day it came out with some friends. We all walked out of that theater, along with every other college and H.S. audience member, crying. What a good movie! The best part is I graduated this year and am going on to college, and so is Andy!

I saw it the next day at the drive in, and this was the better movie because it was not in 3D. The 3D was not the best thing, and seriously, do you really need 3D? I grew up with the first two movies and they were not in 3D and I was MORE than happy!

Tim, this is a good date movie. Went to the drive-in version on a date.

lol... so I promised my parents I'd go see it with them... it's about 100 degrees right now and 90% humidity... so guess who is leaving to see Toy Story 3 for the third time?

Nick?...Mark?... :confused
It is Caroline's way of getting back at me because I mockingly called her Carol. My dad's name is Mark and he has a membership on this site, but isn't very active anymore.

And someone "providentially(?)" called him that the other day, and so I'm sticking with it as long as he calls me Carol :coolsmile
