Treating the "Common" Cold

I'm happy to learn that the vasoline & garlic helped your sister. Chronic Lyme Disease isn't something that's pleasant to have, that's for certain!
Yeah, though her Lyme is still really bad, when she does use it she does notice a big difference! Yeah, that is saying something mild about it. ;)

I've added a notation in my Household Tips file about the vasoline & garlic, Rachel....always good to know these things, just in case.

I wonder if the vasoline & garlic would help Mike with his cough?

I am not sure what all it would help, experimenting might be good! The thing the vasoline and garlic is to help is for drawing out toxins, so it might help with viruses and things of the like.

Good point, Rachel .... and yes, it would be good to do a bit of experimenting with the combo. Again, thanks for the tip!

my wife works in a hospital, we have religious exemptions for any and all vaccines, the truth of the matter is you have legal rights to stand on, in regards to manditory medical treatments, most people just get in line and go with the flow, It appears that keeping a low profile on the matter is part of the success, and of course we pray that God will hide us

I should mention, our exemption is not for the fact that we don't believe the vaccines actually work, its whats in the vaccines, and what may be the trade off for immunity to one disease, may be the cause for another

Mike,
I hope your feeling better! It's been a horrible year for getting sick. It's like you get over one bug and it just morph's to another bug. Like yourself, I rarely get sick. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten sick this year. My son too! Speaking of, I was sick again yesterday and so is my son. Swollen glands and aches. And to think, my son has his State wrestling championship this Friday and Saturday.

I've seen some good advice in here and like Mike, I'm desperate. I think I'll stop by the health food store tonight and get some Astragalus Root Powder for me and my son.

Jeff, it's the worst. I finally experienced a pause from cold after cold, and out of nowhere I've had horrible indoor allergies! When I was in my 20's I developed a sensitivity to dust. I did a short run on allergy shots, quit them, and they eventually just went away. I've had none of that for another 20 years. All of a sudden, I'm dying here!

This has been one bad winter. :gah Whether this is related to my first-ever flu shot my employer made everyone get or not, I'll wage war over it next year. They are NOT sticking me with a flu shot. One and done.

Our winter down here is approaching in June, and apparently they are predicting this to be one of the longest and hardest hit flu and cold season for a very long time in Australia. I suffer from dust allergies and hayfever so this is going to be one interesting winter :gah

cough drops, hot tea, showers, nyquil, orange juice, fruits and veggies, eat more. food helps the low energy. oj is really important here too.

I just heard something recently that even I haven't heard of before. But it's a simple remedy. Use hydrogen peroxide to help cure a cold. It releases that extra oxygen that helps to oxidize the germs. NO! you DON'T drink it! Rather, put a fraction of a cap full into your ears, and at the same time it'll probably clean them out as well. :lol
