TWELVE MOST NEEDED CAR REPAIRS; AUTOMOBILE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE

== 1. Worn Brake Parts. Leaking wheel cylinders, worn out caliper pads and rear lining, and faulty master cylinders head the list of items under this problem category.

== 2. Tired Windshield Wiper Blades. Usually when the rain starts and the wipers are turned on is when the driver is reminded the blades are worn out. If not changed, worn out blades can damage the windshield surface. This is a severe penalty to pay for not doing something so simple.

== 3. Burned out lights. Some lights are more important than others such as a headlight. All lights are placed on a vehicle for a purpose. This purpose can not be fulfilled unless they work.

== 4. Clogged Filters. Air, oil, gas, and transmission filters are used to extend the life of the vehicle. A dirty filter, that is not changed, defeats the purpose of the filter and may allow damage to the parts the filter is supposed to protect.

== 5. Worn Spark Plugs. The spark plug has to work in a very hostile environment. Over time the gap burns wider and requires more voltage to fire. Poor gasoline mileage, hard starting, and engine misfire all point to spark plugs left in place too long.

i'm glad i do all the maintenence myself. on spark plugs avoid the el cheapos if you can , lesson learned especially if you car requires platiminum plugs

on brakes to extend the hardware life,(the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and calipers) flush the brake fluid one a year or at least every two yrs.

my truck has over 100000 miles on it and it still has the original hardware , i did change the rear wheel cylinders when i did rear brakes they got over 90,000 miles on that and i cant expect that again.

I do most of my own to Jason, I put some Bosch dual electrode plugs in my little Ford Escort LX, I still have that bent valve Rodeo SUV too, going to get rid of it. But anyway my back brakes on the Ford is not grabbing and one of the front roders is warped, because I get vibration at high speed when applying the brakes. I am also getting a rough idle, so I think the Idle Air Control, valve needs to be replaced. I also need to replace my out, tie rods. But it is winter in Philadelphia, and I do not want to pay all that money, when I can do it myself, it is very cold outside, and now we have around 18 inches of snow to boot.

Yeah the next warm day that comes, I can do a few things, the house I am in now does not have a garage, but my mom and my dad has garages, they are divorced, but anyway my dads vintage mint condition, Cadillac is in my moms garage and at home in his, he keeps his mint condition Infinity Q 45, my pop is into cars. He bought that 1978 Caddy brand new, and it only has 30,000 miles on it. But anyway I really have to see what is up with those back brakes, and that pop I am getting out of the tie rods or lower control arm. But dad will not move those cars out of the garage when it snows or rains, he uses a Ford to run around in.

any friends that have one? i will go to the job and use the facilities there and to put on tires.

flushing brake fluid stops a lot of things if its done when the mileage is low and/or all hardware is new.
