LoLo Jones failed to medal at the 2012 Olympics, and once she got ripped for losing again, now there is a big deal about her being a virgin--saving herself until marriage. I admire her for what she is doing--staying true to remain pure and as she admits is very difficult--more difficult than training and going to college. Upon reading an article about this, several readers basically ripped into her for wanting to remain a virgin as if it was some horrible thing to do.

Why is it that the world puts so much on pre-marital sex?
 
Also the decline in morality. Only if you respect gods morals do you feel any desire to remain chaste The secular world on the other hand sees any such restraint as foolish and that is why we have terrible illnesses etc associated with it.

Of course some people, apart from god, my see the value in keeping ones self for their future spouse as they might feel they are defiling themselves and this is true and they should be commended for it.

Well, of course. They (the world) are tolerant of one another, they expect us to be tolerant of them, but them, give us tolerance? Fat chance.

So what do we do? We smile at them, we bless them, and we don't break our command to love our neighbors, which essentially is everyone.

I saw that LoLo got emotion on NBC Thursday morning. I don't fault her for that. It's a shame they can't just celebrate her talent instead of trying to equate her failures with "strange religious practices" like saving herself for marriage.
 
I get that saving sex for marriage is a big deal these days, but I don't know why someone would want to make their sex life (or lack of one) an issue, particularly if they're in the public eye. It seems like you're feeding into the sexualization of the culture. I think she might be well-advised to just keep her sexuality private, which I think might be appropriate.

There's something in this country called the first amendment. If you were to look it up, you'd discover that she has every right to discuss her commitment to God and purity. Likewise, her critics have every right to criticize this decision.

And no, I'm not sure what society you're looking at, but saving sex for marriage is sadly not a very big deal these days.
 
he is seeing the same thing i do. most dont see this until they are well into deep sexual sin. he is seeing how the culture programs you to act one way then when you do get an std and or have an abortion then come to christ you will see how your fall into that sin was all set up by the devil.

as a former bi male i can see clearly how porn and even my first time with a girl did set me up to be in the homosexual sin. yes i had the proclivaty before and we all have one or the other. and satan sets us up to fall on those.

It is news because Lolo Jones, is not ashamed to call God her God, (Matthew 10:32; Hebrews 11:13-16). The minute she made a confession of Jesus Christ the world took aim at her (John 17:14-16).

I myself care because she has made a wonderful stand for Jesus and yes she finished fourth, but on that day it was the best she could do, she did her country proud. I really see God glorifying her in the next Olympics. Then she will understand the full meaning of the following verse:
Proverbs 13:12
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
