hi. I seem to recall reading that "alternative" health people make heavy use of cherry juice (extract, maybe?), and high dose vitamin C, maybe other antioxidants, when dealing with gout over the long haul.
In terms of pain relief...I honestly do not know. Stronger opioids are, of course, available by prescription. Ultram seems to be prescribed a lot here, where I live, because the real opioids are getting bad press because of overdoses, diversion to the streets, etc.
If the pain is severe, maybe a visit to the ER or urgent care? I have a friend...when her son gets hit w/ a severe migraine, a local urgent care doctor injects him with stuff, in his office (happens rarely, thank goodness). Is that an option?
