Voodoo/Vodou

http://www.omplace.com/articles/Voodoo_History.html This is an interesting one, and apparently not at all like what it's made out to be ......

I see that you are still very much interested in the occult although you claim to have left your past occult life in many of your posts. I have read through the whole site and am shocked that you still do not see the evil behind voodoo --> Snake spirit and worship, spells and superstitions, consulting of dead ancestors like Catholics (as mentioned in the site) , ancestral rites, divination ... and other "elements of European witchcraft and the occult"..... If these things do not make a typical voodoo culture, then what did you think voodoo was ???

:confused

Tina-Yeah, I guess I'm still interested in the occult, but I don't practice anything, and don't plan to ever again. My interest in Voodoo is due to the fascination I have about what other cultures practice spiritually. I posted it in this forum because I found out that the vast majority of practicioners are also Catholics or Christians.

Hi Essentials. I find you to be a very interesting character, however, please steer clear from voodoo. I live in a country where voodoo plays a very big part in most of the cultures here. Children are abducted for muti murders where they use the organs of children for witchcraft. There is nothing glamorous about voodoo. It starts out to be harmless and the next thing you know…

add sangria to that list. that is a mix of voodoo with catholiscm. the latter lends itself to that stuff. i have found more catholics tend to believe in that stuff then protestants.

Good. :clap I didn't want to post a link with pictures of mutilated childrens' bodies to make a point.

You have an inquisitive mind, Essentials, and you obviously think ‘out of the box’. These are very good qualities – just steer them in the right direction. :thumb

Thanks l'Chante, I'll take that as a compliment. I'm trying to work out what God's plan for my life is and I'm finding kind of difficult, but I'm about to start volunteering for my Church so maybe things will start unfolding soon...

P.S-At the age of 20 I'm extremely curious at the moment, hence all my posts/questions.

Peace.

That was indeed a compliment. Mike once said that after a couple of posts a person's personality starts to shine through, and you seem like the kind of person that I would like to be friends with if I were to meet you face to face.

I'm glad that you are volunteering at your church. I have my own little ministry and it is amazing to know that God is working through me to help others. Good luck and keep us posted!
