Waiting Until Marriage?

Me I was brought up as a Catholic but as I grew older and became a teen and adult my religious views changed and I just have my own beliefs. Anyway I have been told by my parents and from TV and movies that Virgins should wait until marriage to have sexual intercourse. Now I have done other stuff just never sexual intercourse because I am waiting until marriage for that to happen.

So my question and comments here are that do men and women even believe in this anymore? I know I do and I know I am going to wait until marriage to have sex. Even if I get married at 30 or 40 and I am still a Virgin. I am only 26 going on 27 and know that I am still young and should be enjoying life and not worrying about getting married or finding a partner etc.

But this thing about waiting to have sex does sometime's bother me because everyone brings me down about it saying how I should not do it. No guys and a lot of guys I have tried to date don't want to wait. So what are your thoughts on this and what I should do?

You wait.

Those guys you mentioned, including a lot of the guys you have tried to date, don't want to wait until marriage. That's because they are not looking at you as their future wife. They're living in the moment. They're not concerned with the emotional elements that many women connect with sexual intercourse. All they're thinking about is themselves.

One way to discuss this with any guy who may get pushy: Ask if his desire for you means the two of you will announce your engagement the following day, with a wedding the following month. After all, there's a possibility that a baby will be created from the close encounter.

The odds are the guy will call it an early evening and leave.

When you meet the right guy, he will be quite touched to know that you thought enough of yourself to wait until your wedding night to have sex. He will feel special and honored. And it will enhance your marriage.

I am a virgin and until im married I will stay one, Im not sure why but for God handing over your virginity till marriage is very importants. So i will wait until I meet THE ONE

Yeah again I still want to wait until marriage to me it's the right thing to do. I don't care if the guy isn't a Virgin but he should respect me with wanting to wait it out ya know?

If the guy really loves you he will wait,to many sex is flesh rubbing against flesh but do u know I think? I think God created sex to be a passionate intamite thing in which one who deeply loves the spouse becomes one with each other where with every breath you can feel the love you have for another deepen.
but then again im a virgin so what do i know right?

Both of you, @ponyglas & Blain , are to be commended for your decisions to wait.

That unique love, that unites a marriage, create a most special intimacy to further weave & blend together the husband and wife.

The wait is well worth it!

Comments like that were heard back in the days when I was young. They didn't impress me then...and they don't impress me now.

Hahaha. I just keep thinking I won't find a guy who will want to wait. I've tried the Christian dating sites and regular dating sites all the guys are the same even the religious based one's hahaha.

You know I find that God is very sneaky he loves to surprise me. if I pray for something I wont recieve right away because I swear he thinks its funny to give it to me when I least expect it.
Also I think if you make God your number one priorty and grow closer to him and become more like him i have a feeling that special person is going to pop up

Yeah yeah I've heard that before but I'm not that type of person. I do believe in God and pray to him every night but I'm not that way as you just described. It's only been 3 years since I've been single and I know I will probably be until I reach 30 ha.

okay so let me ask u something, Why are u a Christian what is your motive for being one?

Another comment "You're doomed to bad sex forever having married without knowing. Trust me. I was a virgin when I was married. Get the stars out of your eyes."

I really don't think I am going to find the right guy for me, I am too picky with the type of guy I am looking for haha.

I am not Christian or Catholic I am my own self and own religion.
I see.... well i hate to dissapoint you but while im sure your intentions are good that simply isnt enough. A christian is a person who love God constantly seeks him and creates a loving relationship deeper stronger and more precious than what any man and woman could have. and that is why to get into heaven this is needed Faith isnt something you put half effort in you have to truly give it your all and boy is it fun:]
