Everything's too quiet around here.
Some one needs to start a new OSAS thread around here.
Maybe a new TULIP thread.
Maybe a good legalism thread.
Haven't had one of them in ages.

I know, a "you must be baptized to be saved" thread.
That will perk up a few ears.
Hey, how about this?
There's nothing like a new "Trinity" thread.
We can all learn from that, now can't we?

But if you want some real action, try starting a "let's pick on our favorite moderator" thread.
Things will get roaring or quiet in no time.

You got any ideas?

Women pastors

I nominate Reba for woman pastor of the forum.
And then I nominate Reba for woman apostle of the forum.

Who dares challenge my nominations?
Who agrees to 2nd my nominations.
Let's get the ball rolling here.
Let's be an active liberal group like we should be.

She can't be the woman pastor of CF.net, she is currently running for Governor of the state of Jefferson.

I see, the trend is towards a "let's pick on our favorite moderator" thread.
Yes, Reba is very pickable, I agree.
Let's hear from a few others and see where this goes.

Reba come over here and run for Prime Minister. You would have my vote.

Secondary Separation....2Thessalonians 3:6 "Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us."

Now, because Reba has been enlisted to be the pastor of CF.net. The Scripture forbids that so I'm separating from her. Also I'm separating from Rollo because he instituted this.

Is there such a thing?
You're asking if there's such a thing as legalism?
Are you kidding?
I'd like to introduce you to a couple of my friends. Maybe even more.
One told me she believes if she misses one service she's going straight to hell.
Is that legal enough for ya?
I knew a pastor many years ago (in Queens NYC) who told me, with a straight face, that if I sinned I was breaking my relationship with God. Where are those OSAS people when you need them?
Is that legal enough for ya?

I explained to him that if I'm married and my husband and I have an argument we get a little mad at each other, but it doesn't mean we're divorced. He didn't go for that.

Legalists, pharisees. They give God a bad name.

Wondering

How about

Do we need to confess our sins in order to be forgiven?

1 John 1:8-10

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Or was the above written to the Gnostics?

1 John 2:12

I write to you, little children, Because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake.

Is the above aorist?

Sorry let me clarify. That was a tongue in cheek response. To me there is no such thing as a "Good legalism thread" per post 1. If there was I'm sure Jesus would have made it very clear. Alas man distorts belief in Jesus means you have to be as perfect as he is or try to attain it and if you can't your out.

I've got it!
Let's do a thread about Reba being a legalist and if it's legit for her to become the forum pope (or popess).

Careful, Barbarian may end up being her first Cardinal.

Oh no, please, don't tell Barbarian about this thread.
I wrote pope and popess and if he sees it, I'm in trouble.

Oh.
I thought you wanted to start a thread on legalism...

If she becomes the forum Pope, she's going to have to write encyclicals.
AND she's going to have to speak ex-cathedra which means she'll also be infallible.

Quite a task.
Up for it Reba?
