Want to know

Hey All,
In essence, yes. We both believe in the one true God of the Old Testament. We, as Christian believers, further believe that Jesus is Messiah. We further still believe that Jesus, when He returned to heaven sent the Holy Spirit to indwell us for comfort and guidance. These are the three personages of the one God.

Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz

The Jews and the first century Christians believed in the same God - the Father (YHWH) alone.

The first Christians were considered members of Judaism and attended and taught in the Temple and synagogues. Jews at that time would have cast them out if they believed the Christian sect worshiped a different God.

It wasn't until ca. 135 A.D. that Jews and Christians angrily went their separate ways. Bar Kochba at this time declared himself to be the Messiah and insisted that the Christians must believe that and fight against Rome with his followers.

Nowhere in the scriptures do the Jews (who always had the single person God - YHWH) ever accuse Christians of worshiping or teaching a false God. Even when the Jews deliberately made-up false accusations in an attempt to have them killed, Jesus, Paul, and other Christians were still never accused of teaching a different God from that of the rest of the Jews! (Examine the Gospels and Acts. - also use concordance to find scriptural uses of "temple" and "synagogue.")
