Watchmen

The movie comes out on DVD tomorrow and I can't wait to pick it up. I went and saw the movie in Theaters and loved it. I also read the graphic novel beforehand. I know the movie isn't exactly what some here would call a good movie, but I loved that way it gave an insight to society responding to vigilantism heroes.

What do you guys think.

I'm a Christian, as you know it, but I'm also a comic book fan...and I love the watchmen. It shows a surreal approach to real life vigilantism which was cool. I have it on dvd, director's cut addition! Also if you like that you'll love KA; kick...you know the rest, written by Mark Miller and drawn by Frank Romero jr. Now that's a more realistic approach to real life superheroes. The main character HAS NO POWERS, has nothing but a costume and a pile of comic books. He inspires some people to start doing their own superheroing, and gets into deep trouble when he messes with teh MOB...lol check it out.

It's a fantastic film, and a fantastic comic book.

Not for the faint of heart. But then, most incisive art isn't.

I'm a nerd, and accept the title. I'm thinking about raiding my local shop again and seeing if they still have the Dr. Manhattan FIgure.

Personally I think it would be intersting to see both Jon/Manhattan and Jon/Martian Man Hunter meet. That would make reality turn on its head. :yes

I like the Watchmen when I saw it in theatres. Then when I read some of the comics, the art was beautiful.
I'm a nerd too . And the same here, not many people enjoy superhero movies. V for Vendetta should be a classic, I enjoyed that Also the League was epic. I think Watchmen has some echoes of that, with the team unity and motley collaboration of powers that the characters have~

all secular music glorifies sin. should christians not listen to that as well? i dont, but christ did say i come to give life to those that belief on him more abdundantly. legalism doesnt fit that, i choose not to watch tv and or secular music as it can be a hindrince, but some are able and not be affected.

btw isnt there majic in these philosohies, taosim, zen(some forms),shintoism, and buddhism, martial arts get alot of things from that stuff.

So basically, your excuse is "everyone else is doing it"? Come on, behave. You're just ducking the truth about Moore. He's not secular. He's SATANIC. The V for Vendetta comic is a tribute to Aleister Crowley is you ever peruse it. Bringing up Star Wars (new age heresy), Matrix (Gnostic Gospel) or other movies does not change anything about Watchmen.

I haven't heard ALL secular music so I cannot agree that it glorifies sin in its entirety. but I know most of it I've heard does and YES, we should throw it out.

in all actually the only holiday we should celebrate is the breaking of bread and the wine at communion.

This is kinda late, but I disliked that movie. There was an unnecessary amount of gore, and I found the whole movie to be rather boring. The ideas it presented were interesting, but I'd rather read about them in a novel.

You're really trying to make straw man points with the wrong person. When I described Star Wars and the Matrix I was talking about 2 of my favorite movie series of all time. And they are indeed pushing the new age and gsnoticism. I owned multiple matrix master sets. And they're all in the garbage.

I never said we're called not to listen to secular music. You are bringing up everything under the sun except WATCHMEN. Alan Moore is a SATANIST. That was and remains my point. Trying to justify you're being a fan of him because of football and MMA makes no sense. The "everybody's doing it" argument is just not compelling.

I treat secular entertainment on a case by case basis. I would NEVER say ALL music is bad. I havent heard it all. Same for movies and comics. But I happen to know about Alan Moore and it's clear his work is of Satan. Still waiting for you to address that.
