Ways of winning people for Christ

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
What are the ways that we can use to spread the gospel and win more people for Christ?

"Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings". (1-Corinthians 9:19-23)

Here is a video of a friend of mine; he is a missionary in Belarus (where you can't openly share the word of God) and has a heart for people of other nations as well; I hope you will like this video and please share the ways how we can spread the gospel more!

I haven't led someone to Christ in a long time.
I try to do things for others in love. I smile at strangers.
One thing that sticks with me is "love going cold" in society today in the church.
I am pretty much ignored when I go to a church.
There are mormons everywhere here trying to convert people.
Hmm... I need help with this! Any advice?

Angel, I also noticed coldness in some churches today. When I lived in London, Christians showed me practical love and showed me that they really cared (I am still thinking of these people very warmly); when I moved to Belarus and visited several churches (only officially registered churches at the outskirts of the city are allowed) to meet Christians, they were indifferent. Only one pastor came up to me, asked me questions and prayed. It hurt quite a bit.
I think we should start ourselves. We should try to meet with people, build relationships, invite them over for tea or coffee. Show people that we care. Ask God to pour His love for other fellow Christians and people of this world into our hearts.

I think it is good to show that you care too. I have been taking advantage of a lot, though.
There was this guy and he had a kid and a wife and he said he really needed diapers. So I gave him a 20. Then he said, if you give us another 20 then we'll do such and such and I said, 20 is all i have to give. It just angered me because 20 bucks is a lot of money to just give someone, and you know I was homeless so I understand but I think that the guy wanted the extra money so he could buy drugs.

Plant the seed. For example. When its a rainy miserable day and people turn up to work and complain about everything as they do. Smile and tell them the truth, its a beautiful sunny day.

Of course, you should help wisely. Especially you shouldn't give someone money if you know he would use it on drugs.

Sounds like you live in Cali lol. Yeah it's a total bummer my home church changed so much... Forgive me Jesus for I didn't know you in the good days with my old pastor. Since then I have not attended church. Luckily being homeless my spirit gets well fed at a outside outreach, they also feed the hungry.

I haven't led one person so... God bless you.

Thanks for sharing!

I myself have been asking this. I know the Bible tells us that we are not to keep the company of sinners (2 Corinthians 6:14,Psalm 1:1) and I myself do see the sin that floods my mind nowdays. I just can't forsake my family or friends... If I leave them then how am I supposed to show love to strangers.

I have been asking the Lord on how he wants me to be a Fisher of men.
1 Corinthians 9:22 is the verse in which holds meaning to my spirit and possibly start there to evangalize.

I definitely could be wrong, Jo, but Jesus kept company with sinners and I was under the impression that is fine, but don't keep company with someone who claims to be Christian but is a clear sinner...don't even eat with them.

Is this the verse that you consider when you say we aren't supposed to hang with sinners?

1 Corinthians 5:11 ...But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

If not, can we take a look at the verse or verses you do consider so I can know what's going on with this?

I don't get out at all and don't think I do a fair share of bringing people to Christ so, I' find myself here/on the net seeing if there is anything I can do ...not much luck thus far.

You're homeless right now?

The scriptures in my quoted post are referring to my worldly family and friends. In which I hang out with and I can see my old sinnful habits seep through. ( 1 Corinthians 15:33, Proverbs 18:24)

I couldn't agree with you more about 1 Cor 5:11 and one of the main reasons I don't attend a majority of churches around me.

1 Peter 2:9-10 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Indeed we must judge our brother because we are of one body. Jesus says its better to discard a member of the body then to sacrifice the whole. (Matthew 18:9)
