Well, that badly ended.

So, I posted an apology post in a homestuck subreddit, basically saying while I don't agree with homosexuality, it doesn't excuse for my trolling antics in the past. Well, some dude I used to know in my first reddit account said that he knows me, and I said the same thing I said already. Well... some fellow redditor said that I didn't '''changed''' because I don't agree with their worldview. And that's where hell break loose. Most people on the post wrote in the commets not very nice things, and only one said something at least positive. Some demon possessed user said "Hail Satan" just to tick me off, and another dude who said, "As a homo, f*** you". Yikes, so I deleted the post to end this insufferable situation.

I know it's expected for us Christians to be hated by the world, but it still feels surreal to me. It is that to the point people will lose some human decency because a Christian doesn't agree with their lies. Really, it feels like we're almost heading to the end times. Well, we could say... It really badly ended. :/

That's Reddit. They don't like anyone that disagrees with them.

Hey All,
Why did you put yourself in that situation SailorWriter? You instigated what befell you. Did you do this out of love? What result were you expecting?
Jesus did not agree with adultery. But He showed love to the woman caught in adultery. He treated her with kindness and dignity. That is how we need to treat people.
Keep walking everybody. May God blessTaz

This is true but we should not forget that He did not accept her adultery. He told her to "sin no more." In today's society people conflate tolerance and acceptance when they are two entirely different things.

I do agree with you.
Except that there's no talking to these types.
I just keep away.

The reason is, as I've said, is because I want to apologize for my trolling antics in the past, which helped no one. Did I do it in love? Idk, but I felt ashamed of my past. The result that I expected? Well, Idk once again, but I hoped that we can at least move on from my childish behavior.

Why, after "trolling antics" that were meant to offend (which is the purpose of trolling, right?), should the folks you offended deal with you tenderly and courteously (especially if they don't know and love God)? God has promised in His word, the Bible, that we'll "reap what we sow": If I "sow the seeds" of offensive, trolling remarks, I will reap (that is, harvest) the same from others. It seems to me your experience you've described above is a good example of this "reaping and sowing" that God has described in His word (Galatians 6:7).

Also, those deep in sin will embrace no other view of sin except their own, which loves, and engages in, sin without remorse, or shame. The sin-maddened crowds of today, chasing after greater and greater delusions and darkness, will hate any light that exposes their sin, any counter to their evil delusions, that they are pursuing. Don't be shocked, then, when you refuse to do the same, when you shine for Christ like a candle on a candlestick, or a bright light on a hill instead, that the world comes at you, tooth-and-claw.

John 3:19-20
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.

You ought to be "speaking the truth in love," though, brother, not trolling folks who don't know the Lord. You don't represent Christ when you purposefully set out to offend others and provoke them to anger.

2 Timothy 2:22-26
22 So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.
24 And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,
25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth,
26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.

I know, and I am now embarrassed from it. But thank you for humbling me.

Hey All,
You do know SailorWriter. You do know why you did it. The truth is hard to face. It is embarrassing. It can be humbling. It can be scary. But it is always real; and real change, in a person's life, starts when one is honest with oneself and others. Generally a person will only have to face the truth once. But a person has to live a lie the rest of your life.

How does a person move on from their past if they keep going back to it??
Normally I advise people, as part of their repentance, that they go to the person they have wronged, apologize and try to make amends. In this case, no! Do not go back there. Do not put one's self in a place of temptation. Maybe move one's screen (laptop, tablet, phone, etc.) and only use it in a public space. If people can see what a person is searching, their searches reflect that scrutiny.

Repent means to turn from one's sin and turn toward Jesus. If the pain of hurting Jesus is not strong enough to keep a person from going back into sin, what does that say about a person's relationship? And I am not talking about occasional sin. Everybody does that. I am talking about habitual sin; knowingly, and willfully done for the seasonal pleasure it brings.
(Man! The old dude just got all honest and stuff with me.)
You know why SailorWriter? Honesty can create good changes. I want that for you. Overcome this issue and it will change your life.
Keep walking everybody. May God bless,
Taz

we are responsible for our action and thoughts, not others.

you apologized, you've done your part, how others respond that's up to them, we cannot control that.

personally, I would just leave it at that and moved on, there are better things to occupy your time with,
unless the Holy Spirit himself tells you otherwise
