Three out of four are Hillsong-ish type, actually. xD I'm not sure what genre Hillsong is.questdriven:
Not all hard rock ones there, right?
Good to like a combination of styles, but in any case it's the lyrics that count.
Blessings.

questdriven:
Kind of Country/Southern tinge, I guess.
Have you heard any more new, really good Christian hard rock tracks with thoughtful lyrics just recently?
Blessings.

Actually, in June, I'll probably be seeing Third Day when they're in Savannah. We were already planning to go to that place, that Third Day will be there is more of a bonus than anything. As school is winding down, I'm concentrating less on listening to music than before.

I guess, you're outside more, also, these days.
But then of course, summer is more concert weather in any case, I guess...
Blessings.

Not sure. Probably around the same distance away.@questdriven :Actually, in June, I'll probably be seeing Third Day when they're in Savannah. Looking them up, I see they will also be in Valdosta, GA. Is this nearer to you guys?
I guess it's general Christian rock, rather than all hard rock, right?
Blessings.
Not sure. Probably around the same distance away.
Similar to Casting Crowns in some ways, I think. They're good, although not a band I listen to habitually.
I'm actually going with a friend instead of my family. (They had some tickets to go to this place, and they had an extra one, so they invited me. We were going to go earlier this month, but the weather kept us from going.)Not sure. Probably around the same distance away.

questdriven:
I reckon Casting Crowns are generally kind of Christian soft rock, really.
Does this mean maybe that your mom is likely to be okay enough with Third Day in order to be willing to go to their concert, too?
(Christian hard rock is something else...)
Blessings.

My mom would probably like them, though. I think she's heard a song or two by them before, since they were featured in some Christian movies we've watched and she especially likes.
Don't think so. She just has different tastes and preferences. I get encouragement from Christian rock and contemporary, she gets encouragement from Southern Gospel and more Southern-style music. Not just the music, I guess, but the way the message is presented is a little different, too. She does like Casting Crowns, she said, and she'd probably like a few other bands as well. Most of the older people I know, even at my current church, simply prefer stuff like Casting Crowns or Third Day, compared to the stuff those of us in the youth group tend to like. (Skillet, Red, Disciple, etc.)questdriven:
Well, you never know; she might eventually discover that Christian rock 'does something' for her, too, right?
I reckon that some of the folk at the church she still goes to wouldn't like Third Way (or at least, admit that they do).
(But what do I know? )
Blessings.

Oh, that reminds me...when we were discussing songs for the youth group to play in church, we considered a song by this band I never heard of before. They seem good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mbIhriWW-0
Yeah. We all thought it was cool that we liked and listened to a lot of the same bands.Don't think so. She just has different tastes and preferences. Oh really? the young people are all pretty well into Skillet, Red & Disciple, too, then?
Seems like among the young people at your new church there's a kind of Christian hard rock consensus, right?
(I'll check out your link; ty.)
Blessings.
Yeah. We all thought it was cool that we liked and listened to a lot of the same bands.
Looks like the name of the band I linked to is "Worth Dying For", actually.
Yeah.PS: questdriven: Hope you guys have a good concert, anyway. I think you said your brother really likes such concerts, too? (if he's allowed to go, that is).
We get to know what kind of lyrics speak to us, anyway; good when they are really Biblical, anyway.
Blessings.

Also, the music my mom tends to like, also tend to speak from a bit of a different point of view than the ones I do. They ultimately have the same messages, but they maybe focus on slightly different things. In other words, they reflect my mom's POV more than anything. I tend to like music that comes from my POV, as well. Music style is a part of the equation somewhere. Perhaps it's more common of people who like a certain style to believe X, Y, or Z compared to people who tend to like other styles.
