Well I have everything that I need for Thanksgiving except for fresh vegetables. I even picked up a pork shoulder to go along with the turkey, instead of a ham this year.

What do you think is the best cut and flavor of a pork roast?

Nope just season it, and pop it in the oven in a roasting pan covered on 300 or 350 degrees until tender just make sure that it is cooked all the way through use a temp gauge if you have one.

I might try that sometime.I love pork. Some people have said that a Pork Tenderloin roast is the best but I always like bone-in meat.

Today I have already cooked a 15 pound turkey and a pork shoulder, sweet potatoes mixed with pineapples, sweet cornbread, fresh string beans cooked with smoked turkey necks, and potato salad and canned sliced cranberry sauce and Turkey Hill lemonade. So that's it until Christmas.

I waited until too late to buy a turkey, too busy at work, so I didn't go shopping for Thanksgiving food until last night. I realized that the turkey's are deep frozen and I didn't have time for it to thaw so I got a big ham instead. We'll also have mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus casserole , cauliflower with sauteed bread crumbs over it, herrings, potato salad, deviled eggs, Yams, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and two pies for dessert, one pumpkin that my son made and one blueberry that I made. I had to make a top crust for the blueberry from scratch because the store didn't have top crusts for pie. The pie looks so cool, instead of cutting an "X" in it for a vent, I made it a cross and it baked right into it, awesome!

I love ham.The last couple of years we have had Prime Rib and that is a favorite as well but it is so darn expensive. It sounds like you will have plenty to eat.I made a small bone-in turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.I am stuffed.

With all the lovely leftovers to enjoy for some time, we had a nice large turkey, a ham.... stuffing, cheesy potatoes, gravy, cut sweet corn, several types of cheeses, several types of breads & rolls ... pumpkin pie with real whipped cream. With pumpkin spice coffee into which a dollop of whipped cream could be added, dinner lasted quite the while, with excellent conversation amongst family.

Spending time with people you love is such a blessing!
