What do you think is the best cut and flavor of a pork roast?Well I have everything that I need for Thanksgiving except for fresh vegetables. I even picked up a pork shoulder to go along with the turkey, instead of a ham this year.
It sounds like it is hard to cook. The shoulder
I love ham.The last couple of years we have had Prime Rib and that is a favorite as well but it is so darn expensive. It sounds like you will have plenty to eat.I made a small bone-in turkey breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green beans and pumpkin pie with whipped cream.I am stuffed.I waited until too late to buy a turkey, too busy at work, so I didn't go shopping for Thanksgiving food until last night. I realized that the turkey's are deep frozen and I didn't have time for it to thaw so I got a big ham instead. We'll also have mashed potatoes and gravy, asparagus casserole , cauliflower with sauteed bread crumbs over it, herrings, potato salad, deviled eggs, Yams, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and two pies for dessert, one pumpkin that my son made and one blueberry that I made. I had to make a top crust for the blueberry from scratch because the store didn't have top crusts for pie. The pie looks so cool, instead of cutting an "X" in it for a vent, I made it a cross and it baked right into it, awesome!
Well, there are several really good things I could make but after all the work of Thanksgiving dinner I think I will stick with sandwiches thankyouverymuch. There's something very special about leftovers from Thanksgiving! (Christmas, too!)
