Good adversary characteristics the timeless hero archetype stories so commonly used in the ancients.
Heck, they are still alive and well in Hollywood.

That isn’t what I meant. I meant that Satan will flatter us silly in attempt to control us.

In Ezekiel 28, God said He made him "perfect in beauty." So he is a beautiful angel, not at all the picture the ancients had of a goathead with a pitchfork and red flannel underwear. The Baphomet goathead is actually where the later renditions of the devil with a goatee and horns came from. So that description even serves as a disguise.

In 2 Cor.11, Paul said he is transformed into an angel of light. Another rendering of that word transformed is 'disguise'.

How many on earth in the end of days will recognize him when he comes? How many today even know that he is coming to this earth in person, prior to our Lord Jesus' coming?

So true. Just look how people reacted to Obama when he came on the scene, and he is no angel of light. Will he come as a great healer and deceive many because they are seeking signs and wonders...miracles of God? :chin
