What Bible Character Do You Most Relate To?

I agree that we cannot blame Satan for any wrong we as individuals may do. These come from the flesh.

To many try rebuking Satan when they should actually be crucifying the flesh!

1 John 2:23- Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (NKJB)

Mt 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

I'm going to try to return to the Topic.

I feel that I am most like Timothy.

His traits:

Named Timothy
young
brought up in faith by his mother
mentored by Paul
weak in the stomach
powerful man of God, even at a young age

My traits:

Named Timothy(this one's the only one we share exactly)
19 years old
while now my father and mother are both saved, it started with my mother(I still love both my parents the same)
mentored by Ray Duck( a very strong man of Faith)
I also share his weak stomach to a degree
God has allowed me to teach his scripture since the age of eleven.

Hey Vic, am I missing anything?

I once did a monologue of Hannah, mother of Samuel (1 Samuel 1&2). I'm not a mother (yet), but her heart is a lot like mine.

1 Sam 2:1-2~
And Hannah prayed and said:

"My heart rejoices in the LORD;
My horn is exalted in the LORD.
I smile at my enemies,
Because I rejoice in Your salvation.

2 "No one is holy like the LORD,
For there is none besides You,
Nor is there any rock like our God.

NKJV

Also I'm like Timothy because of my personality, my husband having the personality of Paul. I do need my encouragement.

:)colros: I feel a connection with Deborah.
My initials are D.E.B.,and I admire this woman greatly!
She let God use her mightily, amen.
She led the people out of idolatry, and into freedom and peace
that lasted 40 years and she helped to restore their dignity
as God's children.
Deborah rose to the challenge to lead when God called upon her.
Her great confidence in God gave her her bravery and her wisdom.
I want to be more like her, amen.

Most Definately Martha. I am always so busy with things around the house and things going on around me with family, that I sometimes get to caught up in all of them and forget to read my Bible and pray as I should. I need to put God first.

38As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!"
41"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed.[6] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her."

Paul. I relate to Paul the most, but give me the book of James any day. I gain so much inspiration from the words of James.

Identity as related to Scripture

In the OT: Aaron
Aaron caved in when the multitude wanted the image -- Aaron collected the coins, threw them in the fire and out came the golden calf (Exodus 32). For a number of years, this was my christian experience -- always trying to 'please others', leader in the church, etc. Presently, God brought me to see I needed help more than I ever dreamed.

In the NT: Peter
Peter seems much the same as Aaron. Arrogant Peter said he would go to prison and to death with the Lord , Luke 22:33. Hours later Peter denied his Lord there in the Judgment hall, saying "I do not know" Him, Luke 22:55-62. After the tiral, arrogant Peter was a 'different Peter'. The discipline of trials, brings us to our knees. This is where God has brought me.

  • 2 Cor 1:9.. indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves
    so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead;

"Which bible person do you relate to the most?"

This can be a very difficult question, but interesting. There are so many that I think we can all identify with that it is really hard to choose. For myself I think I have always identified most with David.
Mainly because David from a young man loved, believed and did as God wanted him to do but......
David also a lot of the time did just what he wanted to do I think mainly because of his impatience. You know, go ahead do what you think is right and God will follow along. Also David was headstrong, wanted what he wanted when he wanted it.
Of course God showed him always that His will would be done despite what David thought. But is it not just the most wonderful thing to know that God loves us even though we go ahead and make fools of ourselves and do the wrong thing and we can go back and ask forgiveness and he does forgive. That did not mean David or me do not have to "reap what we sow", or that we do not have to face judgement, but it does mean God loves us anyway. :smt041 :D

I get to pick an old testam, net character too, awesome. 8-) No, i'm just kidding, cool man

Soma,
I was just wanting to try to understand why you identify with Judas? It seems to me, his place in history, could only be for one person and one person only, not to be shared with anyone else. I couldn't even imagine being Judas. Not that I think any thing really bad about him, because I think what he did had to be done but .......I guess I am just a big chicken. :smt117

"Which bible character do you relate to most"

I guess I can just relate to Judas the most because of his character.

A failure, coward, sell out who let God down.

What about Samson? A man of strength who fails and sells out, but gets revenge on his enemies. :D
