One of the worst movies I've ever seen. And yes, I sat through the whole thing. Those actors must have really needed paychecks because they sure didn't do it for the art.

wow, I wouldn't have bothered. but that is just me. I don't take much stock in movies even if more Christian in nature for good theology. when I watched the movie what is heaven is like I was leery, I did allow the movie to make its case. but I was skeptical of the claims of the appeareance of jesus. I wasn't sure if its real or not and never bothered with it much until now.

The bible is very adamant regarding the physical appearance of God. It clearly states that no one has seen God. Those stories contradict scripture. It's as simple as that.

So, you have zero Jesus pics in your house? That's a good scripture, but look at it with common sense, People used to make little idols and worship them and pray to it and stuff. I doubt any of us do that in these times. The Lord looks at the heart anyway, so if you have a pic of Jesus, which you do not worship, you understand that it is a depiction and not God Himself, so you don't talk to it or pray to it or anything like that, then I doubt it's a sin. He wants the attention, not some idol or a painting. Talk to Him.

Carved images and sculptures are perhaps going too far according to this scripture, God really hates idols. I haven't heard anything about Akiane doing sculptures, only paintings.

Right, there is obviously going to be some debate, but I think the general atmosphere of The Lounge should be casual and not where we challenge each others opinions. Especially to the point where people get upset. There is a one on one debate forum and the A&T forums where that type of discussion is more appropriate as long as it is done in a civil way. It has gone off the wrong path for a while but mods are not online 24/7.

YHWH. It's not changing the Glory of God to gaze upon a painting which is said to depict YHWH. You don't glorify the painting, you meditate upon God while looking at it. We're Christians, and shouldn't be believing bad report about our brothers and sisters without proof. Don't even think about it. Bad thoughts are carnal thinking and we are to be spiritually minded, that is, to be thinking on Godly things. We are told what to think about:
