What does God consider iniquity?

Those who pretend to know God and yet disobey His commandments, scripture says “is a liar, and the truth is not in him” (1 John 2:4), irrespective of any appearance to the contrary. We look at Matthew 7:23 "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." which gives us a clue, lets look at how other translations have it.

KJV "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
ESV "And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
NIV "Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'
NASB "And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; LEAVE ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’
CSB "Then I will announce to them, 'I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers! '
NLT "But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God's laws.'

The phrase in KJV "ye that work iniquity," literally means "you who break the law." So what does that mean for a Christian?

It's pretty clear if we are not walking in the Spirit and disobeying God's commands, then we are none of His own.

2Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2Tim 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
2Tim 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
2Tim 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
2Tim 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
2Tim 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
2Tim 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

It means that we obey the Love Law of Jesus Christ (Messiah). He came with the Grace of God and a New Covenant.

Romans 13
[9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
[11] And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
[12] The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
[13] Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
[14] But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Sure glad Jesus brings forgiveness with Him.
Forgiveness is Jesus dying on the cross, to take ( redeem us from) all iniquity, away from us, then all iniquity stops her mouth:

Psalm 107:39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.
40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.
42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.
43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

Isaiah 53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Jude 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

I don't see your point.
Are you agreeing or disagreeing?
Just providing context or commentary?

Forgiveness is to take all iniquity away, because Jesus had the iniquity of us all laid on Him.

Everybody who continues in iniquity, denies that Christ has redeemed us from all iniquity, to purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

That is the spirit of antichrist as is in all the world now.

Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Iniquity is ungodliness, it is the antichrist lying spirit, it is the exaltation of satan.

Psalm 94:4 How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

Isaiah 14:15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Matthew 11:23 And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

2 Thessalonians 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

2 Timothy 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

That is why our Lord is meek lowly, because he is the opposite to satan=exaltation.

Here is what to believe in, to get away from what iniquity is:

Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Matthew 21:5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

Luke 14:7 And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them.
8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;
9 And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee.
11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Matthew 13:32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

Luke 9:48 And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.

The mystery of godliness, the mystery of Christ, is the opposite to the mystery of iniquity.

The meek quiet Spirit of Christ is the opposite to the loud, boasting spirit of the devil, it is easy to see who follows what.

Through beguiling and enticing words, men who have the exaltation of satan in them try to deceive, but the wisdom of God is to avoid their strife, debate, contention disputes, and you do that by instead believing in the things the Lord Jesus Christ did, which is being that least of all, to be great.

1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Colossians 2:2 That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.

Very interesting point. Does this mean we have a ruler by which to measure if others are christians? There’s a hitch to that. The measure we apply to others will be applied by God to us.

Does that man we can ignore this obvious standard? Not according to Jesus.

What the scripture says is those who practice lawlessness. That is, it isn’t individual sins but a heart that is not yielded to the law of Christ…. A person who has never submitted their will to His. Asking Jesus into your heart (to do your will making your life better) won’t count, apparently.

Do we never see clearly to pull out of others eyes, what is in theirs ?

To try to take a speck out of someone else's eye, when our eye is completely blocked, is what is hypocritical.

The complete restraint ion our seeing has to be done first, to see any little problems in another's. ( meaning they also have to pull the beam out of their eyes first.)

If we did not, we are the blind trying to lead the blind.

The way people advise is against Christ, to never be as their Master.

But the way Chris advises is their corruption is bringing only corruption for them, and the ones who rely on Christ instead, bring forth good.

Luke 6:39 And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42 Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
